1 /5 Michael Chavez: I brought my car in June 10th 2024 for a check engine light and left with windshield wipers that no longer function. Upon bringing my car in I was told that a new battery MIGHT fix my check engine light issue, $650 later it did not and my wipers no longer worked. When it came to the check engine light they replaced a part that didnt actually need to be replaced along with the battery that was not the main source of my issue. So after spending over $800 on those two repairs, multiple Lyft rides to and from work as well as the egregious amount of gas they wasted driving my car around Concord I was instructed by them to take my car to the Ford Dealer for a $240 diagnostic. I learned what part actually was needed to replaced and also confirmed with a free diagnostic from OReilly Auto Parts. I had to buy the parts myself so they would rectify my situation at no cost (which was a lie). I finally bring my car in only to find out the part they told me to pay for out of my own pocket was actually not the source of the windshield wiper issue and that I would need to take my car to another mechanic to be charged even more money for those repairs that I never needed until they decided to replace my battery. They also charged double for a Gasket cover so this repair was at a cost after being told there would be none. I left the shop that day very angry.
UPDATE 10/28/24: I reported this shop the Bureau of Automotive Repairs, an agent took my case and investigated this shop. The BAR determined that this shop over charged me for a Gasket cover that on one receipt cost $37.40 and on another cost $87.40. So I was informed that I was entitled to and was offered by the manager to have them repair my wipers and a full refund for the $87.40 transaction. I informed the manager I would be there at 1pm to which he responded "Ok see you then". When I arrived the manager was "at lunch" so I waited for about 30 minutes and he finally showed up and told me "were at lunch". When I informed him of how long I was waiting he didnt care told me I had to wait. So I wait until 2pm, they ask for my keys and I say "No Im gonna watch you". We get to the back of the shop and cant get the wipers to work, the manager had a big smile when we determined that. Ok now I demand my refund that the BAR as well as the manager agreed to give to me, until it was time to go in the shop and cut the check, the manager points at my pocket and tells me to delete my review before he gives me a refund. At this point after six months of this nightmare I was more than cordial with these him after all the stress and money I spent. I yelled at the manager told him "thats not how this works, this situation is BS, I came to this shop and left with more problems than I came here with. You need to give me my f***ing money or Im calling the BAR and well see what they say about it" so he responds with "Ok", watches me get in my car, slam the door and proceed to exit the parking lot and as Im doing this I call the BAR. Once I pulled around the the front of the shop the manager yells for me to come inside the shop, meanwhile I have the BAR on the phone the agent hears this whole exchange, the manager walks to my window and tells me to follow him inside the shop to cut a check. Even as hes signing it hes demanding I delete my review. I told him I would delete it after the check is deposited into my account, which I did as we agreed, but we did not discuss a revised review about my most recent experience.
The actual mechanics here a professional and deserve a better more responsible manager thats not a scum bag and still wants to smile condescendingly and treat me like an idiot even when they made multiple mistakes, but thankfully we the customers have the power to make them do the right thing. The fact that he wanted me to delete my review as a condition to getting the refund speaks volumes on the ethics of this shop, ZERO. Its sad to know someone else might take their car here and have a similar or worst experience, but thats what reviews are for.
