The therapist are very skilled and caring. The nurse and cna staff were kind and diligent with our care. Our doctor consultations were insightful and time was taken to listen to and answer our questions. We couldn’t have managed our recovery without the help of our social worker. She spent so much time advocating for us and setting up services we needed. Patient meals were really really good. Highly recommend this center for acute rehab.
Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation - Oakland Nonna Pastore: Im sharing the most horrific experience with Sutter Health/Sutter East Bay, a medical practice in Orinda that Ive been seeing for over 10 years. I had been suffering from a cough and a fever for almost a week so I called Sutter East Bay in Orinda to see a doctor. My usual doctor was not available so I requested to see a different doctor. This doctor ordered 2 chest x-rays and later emailed me saying that I did not have pneumonia and did not need antibiotics. Three days later after continuing to battle a fever with my cough getting worse, I went to the same Sutter Easy Bay Orinda Urgent care facility. A different doctor who "helped" me reviewed the same previously taken set of x-rays and said that I did, in fact, have pneumonia and that I needed to go to the ER. I went to the ER, where I spent 90 minutes being asked by multiple nurses and doctors why my doctor just didnt give me antibtiotics for my pneumonia. What should have been a routine diagnosis has now turned into an over $16,000 ER visit which confirmed that I, indeed, had pneumonia and resulted in a prescription for antibiotics. Over the last 2 weeks, my husband and I have called #sutterhealth, #suttereastbay numerous times to speak with anyone in a leadership position to tell our story. We have only been able to reach message takers who promised to pass our grievance along to the right people. Absolutely NO ONE has bothered to call us back. #sutterhealth, #suttereastbay does not care about their patients well-being. That misdiagnosis resulted in my enduring 13 days of battling a fever, 4 weeks of dealing with pneumonia, and now a $16,000 bill. Does this seem right to you? Utterly disgusted and disappointed!
One Medical: Oakland - Grand Lake - Oakland Jon Collier: Dr. William Sellman was directed by the front desk to meet with me for the first time three days ago. I am very pleased and impressed with the friendly attention he brought and the quality of his assessment of my injured hand. I look forward to having him as my doctor for annual checkups and when I have medical issues.
Roots Community Health - Oakland Joanne Conwright: The Roots staff and organization are superb. They provided the three of us special treatment since two of the people in the car have walking problems The staff made a friendly and sustainable connection. I will always remember their smiles. I had both Covid-19’s test completed at Roots mainly because of the staff’s professional. I will get my booster shot at Roots in the month.
Kaiser Permanente San Leandro Medical Center - San Leandro Maureen Park: This was my first appointment with Dr. Judy Chang-Witt, and my experience exceeded expectations! She is both thorough and efficient, super smart and so kind. I appreciate her gentle, calming voice. She listened to me and systematically addressed all my concerns, ordered labs, referred me to Physical Therapy (PT), and even printed my doctor’s note all within 20 minutes. I underwent my blood tests immediately after our visit. The next day (!), she messaged me with my lab results and further instructions. I have scheduled my PT Appointments and look forward to working with my Kaiser providers to maintain and even improve my health in 2025. I am someone who tries to avoid attending medical appointments. Dr. Chang-Witt inspires me to prioritize my health, and I’m so glad she’s my doctor! Kaiser is very lucky to have recruited her.
LifeLong Trust Health Center - Oakland Andrew Haid: So far its a 5 star its only been my first visit . Theyre very positive and as a patient I had to make the first step to come in ,the first visit is an open appointment,Tuesdays are their busyist day. So show up any other day but Tuesdays. As a clinic for the Homeless wow great respect.
Baywell Health (Formerly West Oakland Health Center) - Oakland Kyree Ruffin: Ive been going to this clinic since I was a child, so I called them because I needed to see a doctor. I was told the earliest appointment isn’t until June. They told me to go to the emergency room instead. Mind you, this isn’t really an emergency, but I definitely need to be seen before June. I asked if they have urgent care, and they said no — the emergency room is my only option.
The lack of care and concern in that phone call was painfully obvious. On top of that, when you leave a message, they never call you back.
There was even one time I had an appointment, came back that Monday to pick up my prescription, and they acted like they had no record of me ever being there. They said I’d have to make another appointment.
I’ve never seen such incompetence in the healthcare field in my life.
Eden Medical Center - Castro Valley Latrenda Leslie: The additional star is for the nurse on shift that clearly had empathy. As for the Doctor, my physical experiences were minimized. I feel like the attitude was “if you are going to waste my time, I’m going to waste yours.
If my symptoms were correct, I will be back to ask him to say “black woman, I believe you.” I know people come in with false claims all the time. However, I’m still sure he must follow the Principals of Medical Ethics. I also believe he was giving me false information. I’m not sure what happened to Eden. I had two C-Sections here, but I won’t be back. I’m going to the “ghetto”...”they treat me better.”
