06-2025 Bishop Paiute Reservation in Hight rate 6 location for tourist in Bishop, CA, USAAncient Bristlecone Pine Forest Visitor Center - Bishop Frank Biermann: I relatively short hike to reach one of the oldest trees. The entrance has got loads of space to plop yourself down and have a snack before or after your journey to see some wood. We waited for night to try to snap some cool night shots, so I quickly found myself some wood to lay down on for a nap.

Kern County Museum - Bakersfield Jacob M: This destination is an absolute hidden gem! I was blown away by the quality of the many exhibits that were on display. I would go as far as to say that the Kern County Museum is the best museum of this kind. Their recreations California history make you feel as if you have walked into a Time Machine. I was very surprised at how many reconstructions they had, as it took us almost 5 hours to see everything. We could have stayed longer too! If you are driving through the area on your way to the metropolitan centers to the north and to the south, I would HIGHLY recommend stopping by.

One of my favorite parts of the museum is their annual events, which always bring the community together in a meaningful way. The Art After Dark Pride event is a standout, and I look forward to it every year. Its such a vibrant celebration of art, culture, and inclusion – the energy is always so positive and welcoming!
The museum’s commitment to fostering creativity and connection within the community is truly special. I highly recommend checking it out, whether it’s to experience the exhibitions or to participate in one of their incredible events.

Central Park at Mill Creek - 1QRenae: The park seems to be a couple blocks wide. Parked on a street in front of a store then walked through small area of park, crossed the street into another wider area where you see a water fountain then up into where plenteous ducks and swans are swimming and bathing and living their lives. Very beautiful.

Panorama Park - Bakersfield John Stangland: Best time to visit is when the rainfall is average to above average and the temperatures stay cool in March. Beautiful colors and if the air quality is good, the sky and water reflection looks a deep blue.
