jaqs clark: A cultural gem! The Bakersfield Museum of Art is truly a treasure in our community! I love how they showcase such a unique and diverse collection of artists, offering something fresh and inspiring for every visitor. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or just looking to explore something new, there’s always something captivating on display. One of my favorite parts of the museum is their annual events, which always bring the community together in a meaningful way. The Art After Dark Pride event is a standout, and I look forward to it every year. Its such a vibrant celebration of art, culture, and inclusion – the energy is always so positive and welcoming! The museum’s commitment to fostering creativity and connection within the community is truly special. I highly recommend checking it out, whether it’s to experience the exhibitions or to participate in one of their incredible events.

K M: This museum is so much fun and only $10 a person. There are 3 levels the main level and the 3rd floor are super cool the bottom is the kids area. There is a wind machine for $3 you can step in and feel what 78 miles an hour wind feels like. Lol super fun!! My son took me for Mothers day and I got in for free. The employee June at the front was so friendly and helpful. Must visit if youre near Kern County we visited from Fresno county.

    Central Park at Mill Creek
1QRenae: The park seems to be a couple blocks wide. Parked on a street in front of a store then walked through small area of park, crossed the street into another wider area where you see a water fountain then up into where plenteous ducks and swans are swimming and bathing and living their lives. Very beautiful.

Crystal B: What a fantastic day our little ones had at the Lori Brock Discovery Center at the Kern County Museum! We chose this incredible spot to celebrate our son’s second birthday, and it was a perfect choice. There was so much for the kids to explore, learn, and enjoy from hands on exhibits to imaginative play areas. We highly recommend booking your child’s next birthday party here it’s a memorable experience for all ages!

John Stangland: Best time to visit is when the rainfall is average to above average and the temperatures stay cool in March. Beautiful colors and if the air quality is good, the sky and water reflection looks a deep blue.

    Yokuts Park
Amy M: It could be fantastic. BUT there are so many stinkin squirrel holes in the ground! -2 stars However, this park is huge. Two jungle gym areas. Slides, swings, climbing things. With covered picnic area in between. There is a lot of area to run and play ball, if it wasnt for the squirrel holes.. And its right by the (dry) river and walking/biking path. one of my grandchildren favorite parks. There are almost always other kids to play with. This area is generally clean.

I AM DEIDRE HATHOR: This latest version of Mural Alley was designed and painted by the ASK (Artist Seeking Knowledge) A Free Community Art Class, for ages 5 and up. They meet twice a month. The Honey Bomb has a 3D Affect done by founder and mural instructor Brandon Thompson. The Dandelion Mural was painted under the direction of Founder and Mural Instructor Deidre Hathor. This mural gleams in the sunlight. Both streetart walls are instagramable. Definitely worth getting out your car for a photo for.
