We chose this incredible spot to celebrate our son’s second birthday, and it was a perfect choice. There was so much for the kids to explore, learn, and enjoy from hands on exhibits to imaginative play areas. We highly recommend booking your child’s next birthday party here it’s a memorable experience for all ages!

5 /5 Jessica Trumpour: Great little children’s museum for kids, not as big or fancy as some that we’ve visited but it’s great for local parents (especially with littles) who want to get out and do something in the daytime (or escape the summer heat). The pretend room has a fire station, police station, ambulance, doctors office, barn, ball pit, building/construction zone, a reading nook, and more. There’s an outdoor play space with a playground and a “dinosaur dig”, as well as a room with more technology related things and an arts & crafts area for little kids along with a different craft every day they’re open.

5 /5 Sara Stevens: The Lori Brock Childrens Discovery center is hands down AMAZING. My 3yo enjoys himself every time we go. It never gets old. Very clean. Friendly staff. So many things to do! So much room for IMAGINATION!

4 /5 Elvia Ramirez-Gutierrez: Our students of only 5 years old had a blast. They had so much fun in the childrens area. Changing into costumes to resemble police officers. Firefighters, doctors nurses and others was a memorable experience. Thank you for such beautiful space.

Yokuts Park - Bakersfield

Amy M: It could be fantastic. BUT there are so many stinkin squirrel holes in the ground! -2 stars However, this park is huge. Two jungle gym areas. Slides, swings, climbing things. With covered picnic area in between. There is a lot of area to run and play ball, if it wasnt for the squirrel holes.. And its right by the (dry) river and walking/biking path. one of my grandchildren favorite parks. There are almost always other kids to play with. This area is generally clean.

Mural Alley Bakersfield - Bakersfield

I AM DEIDRE HATHOR: This latest version of Mural Alley was designed and painted by the ASK (Artist Seeking Knowledge) A Free Community Art Class, for ages 5 and up. They meet twice a month. The Honey Bomb has a 3D Affect done by founder and mural instructor Brandon Thompson. The Dandelion Mural was painted under the direction of Founder and Mural Instructor Deidre Hathor. This mural gleams in the sunlight. Both streetart walls are instagramable. Definitely worth getting out your car for a photo for.

J Cyn “Kitty”: Had a lovely walk with my dog on Valentines Day at the Preserve. It was empty except for a couple cars that drove by. Place was very clean and cared for.

I AM DEIDRE HATHOR: This is a huge Mural. On the Kentucky and Beale Ave Underpass. Message is very empowing. Councilman Andrae Gonzales Vision includes Bicycle Path, Solar Lights and Artist Brandon Thompson and Jen Williams-Cordova are amazing.

Elizabeth Lascheid: The people at Visit Bakersfield are super nice and they know everything about this lovely town. Parking is easy. Check for hours. Inside you will find someone happy to help you. They have a ton of flyers and discounts for all sorts of places. There is much more to do there than you would think. Some of the desert drives are stunning and you have to go to Buck Owens Crystal Palace for a meal or a show or both. They have lovely parks, some nice hotels, all manner of things for kids to do. But you have to know where you are going. So get off on Truxtun or California off the 99 and go to Visit California.

Saunders Park - Bakersfield

Julio Chavez: Stopped here with our 2 children mid December 2024. The playground was clean and functional. Has slides, see-saw, and swings. Some of the spinning playground equipment needs new bearings or grease, but theres plenty to do even without those. Our children, ages 3 and 7 really enjoyed their time here. I only got a full picture of the small playground, but there is a bigger one with a scavenger hunt. The waterpad was not available during the winter time. As mentioned by others, there were people who seemed a bit off, but they kept to themselves and just seemed to be making use of the facilities.

Mr. OhEmGee: We had an awesome time here doing "What Happened at Hawthorne?" which was a perfect balance of challenging and spooky. Alex and Mike were excellent hosts and I couldnt recommend them more. We enjoyed it so much we came back later at night for a second room! Its Bakersfields answer to the rooms down in LA. Keep up the great work and thanks for the great night!
