5 /5 Jeff Meyer: Came here for a birdwatching tour and highly recommend the trails around this spot. There’s quite a contrast with the condos, industrial yards, Hwy 101 and this restored wetland that borders them. There are several informative placards along the way. We mostly saw smaller waterfowl like buffleheads, but did catch a few egrets and herons.

5 /5 Loran Posey: Such a wonderful open space that highlights the restoration of natural wetlands. I saw a variety of birds and enjoyed a gentle morning breeze as I walked the path. Seems like a great spot for birding. I saw 2 photographers with some seriously long camera lenses taking shots of a large white heron or egret. Dogs are not allowed on the main trail - just FYI! There is an outer trail (see the map) for dogs though. Parking was easy across the road where the public bathrooms are!

5 /5 prabesh pokhrel: Great experience with my buddy… Flat and open trail perfect for brisk walk and biking. There are observatory deck on either end of the trail for observing the wild life especially the birds which migrate during different seasons and from different parts of US. Colse encounter with a beautiful hummingbird.. Will go with my bike next time…

4 /5 Arti Jadhav: This is a 4 mile easy level hike, just south of San Carlos airport. Big parking lot is available at the trailhead. It’s very good for bird watching. Two viewing platforms are present at the trail ends to overlook the slough. Small airplanes can be seen landing and taking off from San Carlos airport.

Edgewood Park & Natural Preserve - Redwood City

Helen Marquis: Awesome park with several interconnected trails available to explore. Amazing wildflowers in spring and so many lizards everywhere! Nice mixture of bedrocks and soils means there are multiple types of areas to see - from grasslands to woods and chaparral. Spectacular views from the ridge trail across Bear Island all the way to Mount Diablo. Awesome spot.

Maddux Park - Redwood City

Cindi Reed: A cute little neighborhood park with a large grassy area and playgrounds for both big and little kids. I love that the fence around the entire park keeps the kiddos contained while allowing them to roam around. Most fences just cover the playground. This one surrounds everything. Sadly the gates are not baby proof.

Jahmes Scibetta: Tried to get lost but trails are well marked. Your hiking on the skyline ridge so nice views from the bay to the ocean. Ancient oaks.

Preserve Park - Redwood City

Douglas Wynn: I often travel across the bay or into other counties to go view birds when this has been near me the entire time. The parking lot is on a one way road with a lot of no u-turn signs nearby making it difficult to get to, but well worth it. The view is spectacular.

Marlin Park - Redwood City

Balaji G.: This is a beautiful park near Redwood city. It has a beautiful picnic area right besides the lake. There are lots of trees which provide lots of shade from the heat. The lake is also beautiful and the attraction here is that you can view lots of jellyfish in the lake. There is lots of street parking which may sometimes be occupied since there is usually football league games going on during weekends in summer. It’s a nice place to hangout and go for an evening stroll.

The Museum of American Heritage - Palo Alto

Victor Wang: Amazing FREE museum that shows off quite a lot of history and small trinkets and artifacts. Theyve even incorporated some interactive pieces like an old telephone that you can hand crank. Lego Baylug also hosted their Lego display here and its cool to see all the lego creations (temporary exhibit).
