06-2025 Arts Visalia Community Mural in Hight rate 1 location for tourist in Visalia, CA, USA (part 2)Whitendale Park - Visalia Ryan Bothof: A nice large park with a parking lot and a smaller building that you can rent. Has something like 4 or 5 diamonds and lots of grass which looks beautiful in the springtime. Also, it is on a street that isnt very busy which makes it easy to walk or bike to the park especially if you have kids to watch out for.
Corbin’s Christmas Lights Display - Visalia Maison Pulaski: This place is awesome! Weve been going every year for the last 5 years since we moved to Visalia. It is provided free by this wonderful family. Some years they have people dressed up as Christmas characters saying hi to the kids. They do a mixture of fun, appropriate music (not just Christmas music). This year there was a Star Wars section that was fabulous. One year they did music from Harry Potter. They provide parking across the street from the light show. Parking is fairly limited, so be patient and be prepared to wait if you want a good spot to see. But again, its free. And its a fun family tradition. We heartily recommend checking it out next Christmas.
Tulare Historical Museum - Tulare Samantha Gee: Amazing little museum. Much bigger than expected with a lot of varied exhibits. The military exhibit was surprisingly large, which pleased the military history buff in our group. The staff was very kind and helpful, and they let us know about other local attractions and restaurants in the area.
Columbia State Historic Park - Columbia Scarlett Ng: We visited Columbia State Park on Monday. It was peaceful and cool day for us to walk around this historic park. Almost shops and restaurants are closed for weekdays. It seems we miss the weekend vibe. However we feel it’s interesting just to walk through the park - Get to know about gold rush town with its real old history. A lot of things for family to enjoy a whole day at this town.
* old well fargo bank
* Old style bowling
* Museum
* Gold panning
* Old jail style
A bonus star for kid-friendly. Park road are blocked off all. We feel safety to walk or even cross the road.
Great experience - Clean and beautiful park. Free park / free parking; worth the visit. It’s an amazing hidden gem in California but not so many ppl know. Thank you all workers for keeping this place well maintained and preserved!
Indigeny Reserve - Sonora Brent Dittman: This place is amazing! From the grounds that you can explore to the amazing ciders to taste. Indigeny Reserve has it all. The grounds are well groomed, filled with flowing streams and trails to hike. Walked to the on site mine and to Phoenix lake, very peaceful and serene. After our little walk we had a go at the taste testing of the ciders. Amazing as always! Saw some wildlife, small gnome village and plenty of turkeys! A great place to spend the day!
Shaws Flat (California Historical Landmark #395) - Brendan Kiely: An average small roadside historical landmark. Located near the center of the city of Sonora in a neighborhood. Nothing special but more then just a plaque since there is the bell from the historic bell tower.
