06-2025 Mural-- Olympic Champions in Hight rate 5 location for tourist in Tulare, CA, USATulare Historical Museum - Tulare Samantha Gee: Amazing little museum. Much bigger than expected with a lot of varied exhibits. The military exhibit was surprisingly large, which pleased the military history buff in our group. The staff was very kind and helpful, and they let us know about other local attractions and restaurants in the area.
Columbia State Historic Park - Columbia Scarlett Ng: We visited Columbia State Park on Monday. It was peaceful and cool day for us to walk around this historic park. Almost shops and restaurants are closed for weekdays. It seems we miss the weekend vibe. However we feel it’s interesting just to walk through the park - Get to know about gold rush town with its real old history. A lot of things for family to enjoy a whole day at this town.
* old well fargo bank
* Old style bowling
* Museum
* Gold panning
* Old jail style
A bonus star for kid-friendly. Park road are blocked off all. We feel safety to walk or even cross the road.
Great experience - Clean and beautiful park. Free park / free parking; worth the visit. It’s an amazing hidden gem in California but not so many ppl know. Thank you all workers for keeping this place well maintained and preserved!
Indigeny Reserve - Sonora Brent Dittman: This place is amazing! From the grounds that you can explore to the amazing ciders to taste. Indigeny Reserve has it all. The grounds are well groomed, filled with flowing streams and trails to hike. Walked to the on site mine and to Phoenix lake, very peaceful and serene. After our little walk we had a go at the taste testing of the ciders. Amazing as always! Saw some wildlife, small gnome village and plenty of turkeys! A great place to spend the day!
Shaws Flat (California Historical Landmark #395) - Brendan Kiely: An average small roadside historical landmark. Located near the center of the city of Sonora in a neighborhood. Nothing special but more then just a plaque since there is the bell from the historic bell tower.
Dragoon Gulch Trail Head - Sonora Oscar B: I love this trail.
Have done it several times.
Would highly recommend it even for light hikers.
The view at the top is worth it.
If you park at the southern end, you will have a paved road, and once you get to the trailhead parking, it becomes somewhat rough terrain but not horrible.
Tuolumne County Museum - Sonora Mel: Was supposed to be a quick pit stop but we ended up spending more than a few hours perusing the info and reading detailed stories. Great historical info, presented well. Impressive and well maintained!
Serra Cross - Ventura VALENTINE MORANDO: for being a Wednesday, there was some traffic the way to the cross roads are narrow, so be careful going to the top. Take your time. Drive slow as 10 mph and enjoy the beautiful view of Ventura and the ocean.
Surfers Point at Seaside Park - Ventura Kuma H: It is a surfers paradise, with good waves and sandy beaches. With good parking, restrooms, and changing area. And best of all are the beautiful ocean view and good waves for surfing.
