Belle Spa - Redwood City Caitlin Hill: The main reason my sister brought me to this nail salon was to experience the reclining chairs they have you lay in while you get your nails done. When we got there they had put us next to each other but her while her chairs massager functions worked, mine did not. When she asked them to move me to a working chair we were told that most of the chairs there did not in fact work. Disappointedly we decided to stay and still get our nails done. Five mins later her chair stopped working too.
Shiny Nails - Redwood City Shruti Kapoor: Their manicure pedicure service is good for gel nails. This time I wanted a change so decided to get regular nail polish yesterday. My manicure started chipping already. I get that regular nail polish does not last long but $60 for nail polish that lasts one day is not worth it.
I would probably go for gel nails but not for regular nail polish.
Jasons Nail Salon - Redwood City Asha Raval: I recently visited this nail salon and was extremely disappointed with the service I received. The nail technician, Rosie, was 30 minutes late to my appointment and neither she nor the owner apologized for making me wait so long. She strolled in, never greeted me, made multiple phone calls in Vietnamese on her cell phone - when I had taken time off from my work come in and made an appointment with her in advance.
The most concerning aspect of my visit was the way Rosie treated my sensitive skin. I had informed her multiple times that I have eczema, yet she made fun of me and did not take my condition into consideration. The sanding drill caused pain and discomfort, and her lack of empathy made the situation worse. Her communication and language also displayed a lack of care for my well-being. Every time the sanding drill would dig into my skin and I would tense up, she would just tell me to "relax" without any empathy or concern, and remind me to keep coming to her to get my nails done.
Furthermore, as I was paying the total of $70 + with a generous 20% tip DESPITE this awful service, she pushed me to pay in cash even though the salon takes cards. In America, especially when given our tipping culture, the goal is to first treat the customer well and with care (not hurting them physically or making fun of their skin) and THEN the customer will tip you for your service. Rosie had no right to demand cash from me after such bad service.
I broke out in a rash after this service and several of my fingers still hurt a week later. The salons lack of concern for customer service, professionalism, and well-being is unacceptable. I would not recommend this nail salon to anyone and urge potential customers to exercise caution before patronizing this establishment
My Sassy Nails - Redwood City Pafuti Lealamanua: Cindy always has your back and works well with others. Whatever you need she’ll accommodate it best. She loves her job and you can always tell by her uplifting positive attitude and warm welcomings thank you :) Most definitely recommend this place❤️
Sophia Nail Spa - Redwood City Nikki Novi: I had scheduled an appointment with another nail salon, but when I arrived there they didn’t even look at me as the spoke. They told me to pick a color without going over the options with me and left me looking at a basic set. After over 15 min without any joy, I decided to leave and I am really glad I did. I walked into Sophia’s Nail Spa and was attended to right away, with smiles and enthusiasm as they answered my questions. Kara was available to service me right away, offered me a complimentary refreshment and even had a stand for my phone for me to watch something while she worked. Her demeanor helped me relax and her focus made me feel well-attended to. I decided to schedule a pedicure with Kara for the next morning, which lead to another great experience. Customer service was attentive without being overbearing. The energy was warm and casual. Kara took care of my feet and painted my toes with spirit and attention to detail. She is a true artist! I didn’t have any of the worrisome or disappointed feelings I often have at other salons and I’m very happy with the results. It’s difficult to find great service these days. Thank you, Kara and the rest of the staff for your hard work!
NT NAILS LOUNGE - Redwood City Jackeline Morales: Unprofessional staff. I had a very bad experience during my visit to this nail salon. If you dont want to have a bad moment and get stressed out, Please dont go to this nail salon. I was so excited to wear my nails for Christmas. Before I booked the services they offer, I showed the staff a picture of the design I wanted and asked if they do that design. They told me they do any design. (I felt confident at that point) The lady started working on my nails and when she finished she said she wasnt satisfied with the result and did it again 3 more times (my nails ended up very damaged) until she finally told me she couldnt do the design and that I had to choose a color. She looked so upset that I felt forced to choose a color. And she left, without finishing doing my nails, she left me sitting waiting for a long time to attend to other clients. When it was time to pay I thought they would give me a discount (for not doing the design I asked for) but they charged me $115.00. I felt very sad.
Woodside Nail Spa - Redwood City Nicolle Andrade: PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE AND READ MY REVIEW. I have been coming to see Helen and Candy for years! Since they opened up, the last few times were horrible and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. NO MORE. I will never come back after what they did to my nail! I have never had any problems with my nails and I take very good care of them. I went in to get my acrylics filled and a week later noticed my middle finger was not growing how it should be. To my horror i now have a HOLE in my nails. If I could give them 0 stars I would. This used to be my favorite manicure pedicure spot but after multiple problems and years of giving then a chance this is the final straw. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE AND FIND A MORE SANITARY NAIL SALON. They charge prices based on however they choose and are not sanitary in the least bit. Save your nails from this salon!
V & Ts Nails Salon - Redwood City Kristina L: V and T is the best in the area! I used to go to a different salon that did not care for my nails and was using cheap and not so great products. The old salon’s gel products would always chip after a few days and also made my nails very thin and brittle.
I started going to V and T a couple of months ago and happy to report that my nails are healthier. When they do my gel nails, it lasts up to three weeks. They do such a great job! The place is always clean and everyone working there are so kind. I’m so glad I switched.
8/23 Update: they truly do an amazing job! Penny did my pink tips and it was beautiful!
Happy Nails - Nail Salon in Redwood City - Redwood City Ronita Sharma: I started going here 3 weeks ago and have changed from my regular mani/pedi lady to Kim. She’s so good and quality is great. She also takes her time and ensures you’re completely satisfied. Worth checking out if you haven’t alrdy! Nails are perfect and lasts for weeks!
