Erin McGillen Close enough I can walk thank goodness because parking is always hard on or near 4th. But this place is great! The folks working here are always awesome, the food is always good, and the vibes are great! I love that they have fun seasonal options along with their classics.

Tilly N. Fun, touristy spot with generous portions and plenty of shrimp dishes to choose from. The food was tasty and comforting, and the service was friendly and upbeat. The Forrest Gump theme adds to the atmosphere and makes the experience memorable. A nice place to stop by if you’re exploring the area.

Christopher Rocca Any great dining experience is a reflection of the staff and then the food. If you’re coming here for dinner, ask for Job. He was professional, pleasant, friendly, and intimately familiar with the menu. We started with the clam chowder, lobster and shrimp taquitos and warm crab dip. The chowder was packed full of clams and absolutely fabulous. Similarly, the lobster and shrimp taquitos are an absolute must have. They were simply out of this world. For my main course, I had the Seared Hokkaido Sea Scallops, again exceeding all expectations and falling into the excellent category. I paired my scallops with the 2023 Kettmeir Pinot Grigio based on Job’s recommendations, which was an excellent choice. My wife elected to have the lavender paradise zero proof cocktail, which she found refreshing. We wrapped up the meal with the warm butter cake topped with vanilla ice cream and complimented with berries. What could be bad it was a winner. I would highly recommend if you’re in town and have the time to come here for dinner. All of the staff was fantastic but our waiter Job definitely was a stand out. The food was exceptional, and I don’t think that you will be disappointed. Lastly, we had a table overlooking the Queen Mary, but the restaurant affords panoramic views that include the city. These views would be difficult to match at other restaurant in Long Beach.

Amani Dining at The Boathouse on the Bay was a wonderful experience. The restaurant’s setting is stunning—waterfront views that make you want to linger long after the meal. It’s the kind of place that feels both elevated and relaxed, perfect for a special night out. The food held up beautifully to the atmosphere: • Lobster Mac and Cheese (9/10): rich, creamy, and indulgent with fresh lobster throughout. The flavors balanced well without being overly heavy. • Caramelized Brussels Sprouts (10/10): perfectly roasted with a slight crisp, sweet yet savory, easily one of the highlights of the meal. • Boathouse Wagyu Burger (8.5/10): the quality of the meat stood out—juicy, well-seasoned, and served hot. While the burger itself was excellent, the fries felt a bit underwhelming in comparison and didn’t add much to the dish. The atmosphere was enhanced by a live band playing timeless classics, which made the dining experience feel even more special and memorable. Paired with the waterfront views, it created a relaxed yet elevated vibe that’s hard to beat. Beyond the food and music, the service was attentive and welcoming, making the entire evening seamless. Watching the sunset over the water while enjoying good food and live music is something I’d highly recommend. This is a place you come for both the flavors and the atmosphere, and it delivers on both.

Rohi Zacharia The place is very nice. Right on the water. We had an issue with our table leaning but staff allowed us to move. Food was delicious and well prepared. Side note, water is tripled filtered which is nice as the city water doesnt taste nice.

Mary T Popped in twice in the last week. Both times at Happy Hour which for the winter season runs 3pm-closing. Friday our bartender was Jeff who made very good Old Fashioned and guided us to the Ceviche Tostadas. Excellent. Fresh fish with a light salsa on crisp tostadas. Our second pop in was a Tuesday night after a movie at Marina Pacifica (short walk over but theres plenty of parking in the lot at SPFM. Tonight Brandon poured some good Old Fashioneds as well. We checked out the Chowda fries - crisp and with a light chowder sauce on them. We did 3 tacos (a Tuesday & Wednesday special:3 for $12.99 and you can mix and match). Two fish one and one pork belly. All great. We didnt need it but we ordered some guacamole (fresh made) and chips. Ricardo the manager stopped by to check if we were good. Quiet evening there but I highly recommend this place especially during the quiet winter months. Atmosphere a bit on the franchise side but otherwise good.

Heidi Miller I found this place as midway between our hotel and where my old college roommate lives. What a find! The service was attentive without being fussy, and the food was ::chef’s kiss::. I had the soup special and the California salad, which was tastier than any salad has a right to be. The only problem is that we fly out tomorrow, and the dessert I ordered (lemon cake), while delicious, could feed five people!

Olena Stoianovska I had such an amazing experience at Tantalum restaurant ! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, cozy, and full of character. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel relaxed and welcome. The decor, lighting, and overall vibe made it perfect for a chill night out. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish we ordered was packed with flavor, and the portions were huge! You definitely get your money’s worth here. It’s one of those places where you leave full and happy. But what truly made the evening unforgettable was the live jazz music. The band was so talented, and the music added this incredible energy to the whole place without being too loud or overwhelming. It created the perfect backdrop for enjoying dinner and good company. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for great food, a cozy vibe, and some amazing live music. I’m already planning my next visit!

Omar Ramos Great food, great ambience, not for the faint of heart if you are on a tight budget. I ordered a 30 day aged steak… mouth watering and tender. Served with garlic mash potatoes. One of the best meals I had in years. The customer service was excellent! Friendly, fun, and our server made amazing food recommendations. Definitely the place to be at during special events.
