1 /5 Jenni Espinosa: I am very sad to say that our Round Table has officially gone way down hill. I used to love bringing my kids and then grandkids to have some delicious pizza and sides,but that is no longer the case. Heres why:
It is filthy. The tables were sticky, and dirty. When we got a napkin out of the dispenser, we found trash behind it. (Old straw wrappers, some plastic packaging and some old lid to a dressing container. It was obvious they had been there for a while. The bathrooms were also filthy and not properly cleaned, again, for a long while.
The salad bar was absolutely disgusting and there were fruit flies present. Now, I get fruit flies can be a pain, but proper sanitation remedies this. I was a manager at a restaurant for a long time, and I do know and understand well how to present and maintain a clean, hygienic, SAFE salad bar. This one was awful. The beans had this gelatinous liquid that should not be present at all, the beans on top were dried out, there were many empty containers, and the ones that had vegetables in them were old wrinkly cherry tomatoes, brown shriveled up spinach, slimy old mushrooms, and the dairy based dressings all had congealed dressing on the sides of their containers, showing they had not been switched out for many, many hours. As a California restaurant, the minimum requirement for a salad bar is The utensils and equipment surfaces (e.g., containers holding the food) touching this food generally need to be cleaned and sanitized at least every four hours. As well as maintained at a temperature of 41°. This was not happening.
The counter of the salad bar was dirty,(salad is $7.99) crumbs and other food related debris were all over them. They too, were sticky. I dont know why every surface is so sticky, other than not using clean ,fresh sanitized water and bleach or possibly using a spray with a residue. I went to use the oil and vinegar but the vinegar bottle was empty and the oil bottle had more oil on its surface than inside it.
The utensils are now plastic which is not at all what Id expect from Round Table. There was only one fork. Every other receptacle was empty. The soda machine was dirty too.
Clearly, there must be new owners who do not understand or practice safe food best practices. I will not be returning and I will not spend money at a place that clearly does not care about the communitys health and safety. It was not like this in times past.
Their prices are far too high for the lack of quality or care they put into this business.
I gave 2 stars because one server was nice. Thats the ONLY redeeming quality for this place.
Our community deserves higher standards to be upheld where we spend our money. Do better.
