5 /5 E Martinez: Found this gem on Google Maps as we were looking for a different lunch spot that (fortunately) didn’t work out. We parked behind the building in the paid lot (about $2) and could feel that summer heat right away. Walking to the front of the building, the space had a shady covering and misters going for customers in the patio seating. We walked in and were seated right away upstairs, given menus, and directed to restrooms.
We ordered the breaded cauliflower which came out hot and had the perfect texture! It came with two dipping sauces, one spicy buffalo and the other a sort of sesame chili oil. We also ordered the steak salad and the Southern BBQ chicken sandwich. Great flavor on both! The steak was cooked perfectly! It was tender and had light seasoning, letting that beef flavor shine through. The burger was juicy and came with a hearty side of fries. The chicken was cooked perfectly as well and paired with fresh ingredients. We shared a Pilsner from the beer menu which was bright and easy to drink.
This is the perfect spot for a quick lunch on our road trip but we could also see that the locals loved it. It was nice to see all ages enjoying the food and chatting with the staff. We had a great experience and will definitely stop by again during our next visit to Redding!
