With its tablecloths, glowing lamps on the tables, and soft background music, the room itself is retro and nostalgic without being stuffy. The service—a rarity in Palm Springs—is friendly, professional, and consistent.
The food, like the room, is old-fashioned without being boring. We love the escargot and short ribs en croute to start, and the salads are fresh and inventive. The pork osso bucco is as awesome as its reputation, and their meat and fish are excellent quality.
Last night we enjoyed the New Year’s Eve prix fixe menu; all around us were people enjoying their cocktails and dinner without having to shout over the music or fight for a waiter’s attention. And I know that if they ever offer the pistachio-crusted lamb or filet mignon Oscar on the regular or specials menu, I’m having it again…
