The Heights Casino - Trinidad (CA)

4 /5 Steve Davis: First, the cat chilling at the front is awesome. Second it is a very nice place with some great views from out of the restaurant. I will try to add some pictures later. Bingo hall is huge and the people are very friendly. The only reason for not being a five star is that it is a smoking casino.

4 /5 F. Ann C.: There was a power outage in the middle of my bonus round on slots, causing the machines to all shut down. The back up system kicked in immediately and everything was getting back on line. The technician on duty that day had his hands full with a few that had to be manually rebooted, but he handled it with grace. When the slot machine i was playing came back on, it picked up right where I left off. The restaurant is pricey and the wait was a bit long. The food was amazing despite that. The one thing I will say, though, is there is not a hotel close to the casino, so be prepared to have to get back onto the highway for lodging if you plan to stay in the area.

4 /5 Lisamarie: This is a nice enough small scale casino. I have not been in the rooms nor spent any time on the gambling floor. We did go to the restaurant which has beautiful views, and the food was quite good, though the service was extremely lacking.

1 /5 Marcus Barry: This night ruined my engagement…me and my now fiancée got reservations at the restaurant in the casino. The view was perfect. I ordered a rare steak. When the steak arrived it appeared to be too over cooked for me. I asked to have it sent back. 10 minutes later a woman from the kitchen came to my table with what looked like the steak I sent back. She then grabs the steak with her bear hands and says “you asked for a rare steak right”. I said yes. She then rips the steak apart at my table with her bare hands and says “it looks pretty rare to me”. She then storms off. After that I decide to speak to someone about what just happened. The server tells me your meal will be compted don’t worry. The casino host then approaches me and apologizes but says “I can comp your steak and that’s about it”. Working in the casino industry In the past I know this to be a poor response from any host. I would NOT recommend anyone to visit this casino unless they are ready for poor service.
