3 /5 Myra Mroz: The property itself is absolutely beautiful, and I really appreciated that it was a smoke-free environment. We visited over a holiday weekend, which likely influenced parts of our experience.
The pool area was the biggest challenge. We enjoy starting our mornings in the Jacuzzi with coffee or tea, but security would not allow outside drinks. They insisted drinks be purchased at the bar, which doesn’t open until 10 a.m.—inconvenient when it was only 8 a.m. On top of that, the pool was extremely crowded (again, likely because of the holiday), and it felt more like Las Vegas than a relaxing resort.
The spa was beautiful and relaxing, though pricey. It cost $77 just to use the facilities, which felt steep considering massages started at $150+. By that point, it seemed like you might as well just book a treatment.
The rooms were very nice, but we did run into some frustration with the room key system. Since we were traveling with a group of friends, each staying on different floors, we found it inconvenient that the key only granted access to your assigned floor. While I understood this was for security purposes, it made visiting friends a bit of a hassle.
Overall, while the property is gorgeous, I didn’t feel the value matched the room prices—at least not during a holiday weekend. It might be a much better experience on a less busy weekend, when the pool and facilities aren’t so packed and you can truly enjoy all the resort has to offer.
