1 /5 David Anderson: INCOMPETENCE: I took two watches that were in operating condition except for needing new batteries to this shop. I asked for the batteries to be replaced. When the watches were brought back to me, one had the stem used to adjust the time and date jammed in place and immovable. I was informed the other watch would not work even with a new battery. The second watch was given to me with the back cover taped to the watch because the cover would not reattach.
So I took the watches to a store down the street called Jewelry Repair Newport Beach. The owner/operator is Swiss trained. He quickly diagnosed the problems caused by the Tustin Jewelry Mart and fixed them for a reasonable price.
Moral of the story: Don’t take a watch to the Tustin Jewelry Mart for battery replacement or repair. My experience is they don’t know what they are doing and may well break what isn’t broken.
