sharon lillemoen: if I could give zero or negative stars I would. this is long but i think it is important for future customers to know. my husband and I were in Monterey for my birthday at the end of October, 2018 and we stumbled across this store. we dont look at jewelry very often and I was excited when my husband said "lets go in." we were greeted by the cutest girl and she was very attentive. I immediately found a baguette eternity ring that I fell in love with and my husband said "lets get it." I looked around a little more and came across a beautiful tennis bracelet. i was very excited when we ended up purchasing both. i wore them out of the store and them we left Monterey and headed to SF for the rest of our weekend. later that evening when we were at dinner i noticed that one of the stones in the bracelet was missing. i was HEARTBROKEN. the next morning we cancelled our other plans and returned to Monterey to ask about returning or exchanging the bracelet. i understand that Steinbecks has a No Returns Policy but i hoped that they would make an exception considering i had owned it for less than 24 hours. when we arrived at the store we were greeted by DeAnn and she couldnt have been more rude and unaccommodating. she inferred that i had somehow misused the bracelet and it was my fault that the stone fell out. she refused to replace or let me exchange the bracelet. she said that she would show it to their jeweler for repair but couldnt guarantee that i wouldnt be charged for the repair until he looked at it. she then proceeded to tell me that the bracelet was very delicate and that the same issue could happen again and that i would be responsible for any further issues. my reply was "why would they sell something that they knew would have problems and why wasnt i warned about this?" IF I HAD BEEN INFORMED ABOUT THIS I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED IT!!! i left the bracelet and was told i would be called about if i would be responsible for the repair. long story long, i received the bracelet in the mail about a 3 weeks later. no note. no explanation. not even in a box. just the repaired bracelet in an envelope fast forward a few weeks later to thanksgiving. i had not worn the bracelet because i was worried about what DeAnn had said about it breaking again but i wanted to wear it for the holiday. as i was putting it on IT BROKE!!!!!!!!! so here i am with a bracelet that i tried to wear twice and it broke twice. i contacted them again about a possible store credit. because i live 2 hours away from Monterey i mailed the bracelet to the store. two weeks later i received the bracelet back from them in the mail. no note, no communication of any kind, just the bracelet!!! i have never encountered such rude treatment in my life!!! in the mean time i contacted my credit card to inform them of the problem.
A Niche In Tyme - Pacific Grove
Michelle Benjamin: What started as a fun and promising day choosing pick charms for our kids unfortunately took a disappointing turn by the end. The kids had a great time picking out their items, and we were genuinely excited to support the shop and make a purchase ourselves after they left. However, the mood shifted unexpectedly when my husband, while we were finalizing our choices, made a light-hearted comment asking if the owner would blame him for trying to negotiate a lower price. Rather than taking it as a friendly or even typical customer inquiry, the owner responded sharply, saying, “Yes, I can blame you.” My husband was surprised by the response and replied that it seemed unreasonable not to even allow an offer — which the owner took great offense to. From there, things escalated quickly and unnecessarily. The owner told us he would no longer sell us anything and essentially asked us to leave. We were taken aback by how rigid and unwelcoming the interaction became over what we thought was a very common, good-natured question in small business settings. It’s unfortunate that a day that started with joy and support for a local business ended on such a sour note. A little more patience and communication could have gone a long way. Humor isn’t for everyone we just didn’t realize that he wasn’t on the same page.

Iannick Remillard: I would give 10 Start if possible. I can’t explain how awesome Bryan is as a Gemologist. My now Fiance and I went ring shopping a while back and I had no idea what to look for. Bryan took his time to explain the clarity scale, flawless scale, size of the rings, shapes and colors. His knowledge and understanding of the numerous diamonds and rings are on a whole other level.

When it came time to prepare the ring, with the perfect stone, Bryan found the Jack pot!!! A beautiful long oval diamond with a halo, and with his recommendation, he was also able to create the perfect matching wedding band. I can’t recommend Bryan enough as he doesn’t see his customers as a dollar sign but as someone in need of guidance to find that jewelry for that once in a life time special occasion. Can’t thank you enough Bryan Just one word to describe this and it is “Perfect”

Hi.: I think the silver shop owns this place, or vice versa. Always friendly and I love that they encourage dogs to come inside.
    BONDED Carmel-by-the-Sea - Carmel
Justin Rumps: I surprised my wife with a permanent bracelet from BONDED for our anniversary and she said it was hands-down one of the best gifts I’ve ever given her. The experience felt personal and special from start to finish. Mindy and her team were welcoming, helpful, and made it all easy. My wife loved the idea of something beautiful and permanent -no claps, no taking it off, just a simple elegant reminder of us. She hasn’t stopped admiring it since. If you’re looking for a meaningful unique gift, look no further than BONDED you won’t regret it.

Abigail Ohab: A wonderful man! I was proposed to on vacation in Carmel. The ring was slightly too small and Sarkis very generously worked on it same day so that we could continue our travels with the ring on my hand.
