ginnie doh: No 0 stars option here. The gym staff is lazy and uninterested. * The business model is personal-pay-for-instruction. Nobody would ever answer your question unless you pay extra. Broken machine? Non-existent AC? Who cares? * Theres an eighty year old lady who can hardly walk who comes regularly. Nobody on the staffs ever chatted her up or offered her help. They are so busy with themselves in their little cage they never noticed her. Yes, the other guests always help her move between the machines. * Feels like a school library with everybody scrolling their cell while occupying a good machine * This is an overpriced institution. Moving back to the Y.
Broadcom Promontory F Gym - Palo Alto
Hemant Joshi: Only reasons why this place is not five stars are: 1. It is only for VMware employees 2. Locker room is bit smaller than I will prefer Gym staff is friendly and helpful. Have nice variety of equipments and classes. Best of all, it is really really clean. Cherries on the top are: 1. Squash Court 2. Fruits 3. Special activities they plan to keep members engaged. 4. Assistance provided to participate local fitness events
    Functional Lifestyles - Mountain View
Christine Bui: I joined FL about 2 months ago. The classes and coaches are wonderful! They cap the # of people to 10 which puts the coach to client ratio at 1:5. I constantly get feedback and see others receive feedback on their form. Hana is a great coach! Shes always engaged with us, giving us pointers! Ive been at really large gyms and you can get overlooked and forgotten in the chaos so I appreciate that here. It is a bummer though that they cant accommodate more people because the 9 AM class is always waitlisted - I have to sign up way in advance. They have added more classes as there are more and more people though. Oh, and I love that there are always dogs around!
    PerformanceGaines - Palo Alto
Warren Jackson: I have been a member at PerformanceGaines since 2014. The coaches, staff and facilities have always exceeded my expectations. The community that Chris has built is second to none! You would be hard pressed to meet a more inclusive and ethical gym owner, or a more knowledgeable group of health and fitness professionals.
The Bar Method Palo Alto - Palo Alto
Maryam Khademi: I absolutely love The Bar Method! The studio is always spotless and beautifully organized, and classes start right on time. The instructors are amazing — they truly pay attention to form and take the time to correct and guide you, which makes such a difference. The receptionist is incredibly kind and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere is positive and professional. The people who attend classes are also respectful and focused, which creates a great community vibe. I always leave feeling stronger, refreshed, and inspired. Highly recommend!
Lively X Studio - Palo Alto
Amy Hachigian: LivelyX has surpassed all expectations I have ever had for group fitness classes, personal training, and community. I had tried numerous boutique studios in the Bay Area in hopes of finding a good workout, but it wasn’t until I found LivelyX where I finally found fantastic instructors, amazing ladies, and a truly great workout. I lost 15 pounds just by showing up and having fun four times a week (no diet changes) & once I got pregnant, Laura provided notifications that allowed me to continue working out until I gave birth (my water broke in the studio at the end of a 75min booty burn class!). I started working out again 6 weeks postpartum and continue loving it! The energy cannot be matched. If you’re looking to sweat, make friends, and have a good time, this is where it’s at (not to mention it’s conveniently next to a Whole Foods and Peet’s). Laura is a gem, you cannot find a better person & fitness instructor!
    Pure Barre - Palo Alto
Genevieve Orr: Pure barre is definitely my favorite barre studio. I love the different class formats for a variety of workouts, and each class keeps things moving fast enough for it to be fun. The space is clean, teachers are great, and ambiance is supportive and inclusive. Classes kick my booty in a good way!
    Bow Gym - Palo Alto
    Club Pilates - Palo Alto
Suzanne Tamang: I love pilates and yoga and Ive been doing it for decades. The rise of chains like Club Pilates are attractive due to the number of classes and locations. However, they simply dont have the quality of teachers and classes that smaller shops like YogaSource bring to clients. Feels like a McDonalds model imposed on pilates.
CrossFit Palo Alto - Mountain View
Kyla Farrell: Ive belonged to three different CrossFit gyms, and CrossFit Palo Alto is hands down my favorite and the best Ive experienced in terms of community, quality of coaching and programming. Tim is a super knowledgable, very professional, and will meet you where youre at whether its your first fitness class ever or youve been working out for years. I really appreciate his emphasis on making CrossFit a sustainable practice and part of your weekly routine. He keeps the workouts challenging, varied and interesting. I been amazed by how much stronger and more physically capable I feel just from going to class twice a week. I highly recommend checking this gym out!
