Everything is super organized, and you can tell they really care about their members. The vibe is always positive and welcoming, and they even host fun community events for members or their dogs!

5 /5 Andrew Proctor: I am a BIG FAN of LuxFit!!! Visiting SF and dropped into a Hyrox Drip class here with Angela. Total highlight of the day. LuxFit is clean, equipment is plentiful and well maintained, and staff are welcoming and motivated The class was fantastic. Total burner. Really enjoyed it - vibes were high from other members and from Angela (the coach) LuxFit is all about hard work, positivity, chasing a better version of yourself, and getting after it! One lady in the class was in her 50s and used to be on the Turkish Olympic team (many decades ago). WOW!!

Mike K: Excellent little neighborhood gym. Not a ton of open space but it makes up for it by having everything you need from cardio equipment to machines to weights. Will definitely come back here the next time Im in town.

Strength Camp SF Bay Area - Daly City

Jason Tan: This place is great. Plenty of open racks, knowledgeable coaches, and new workout plans every day. Classes are booked by time slot, but you can generally book it a couple hours before if you know youre going. Price is considerable (~280 a month for unlimited bookings) but makes sense for the space and the type of classes that the gym offers. Also helps if you can get there easily. Definitely worth it if youre looking to get back into working out or just looking for a more structured gym routine.

Planet Fitness - Daly City

J Getty: Not sure why so many people complain about the showers. Mine was clean with good pressure and heat. I went at 8 am so maybe that had something to do with it. Minus one star for no in wall shower caddy though. I dont want to put my stuff on your floor.

Flagship - Castro - San Francisco

Sharon Tan: The community is supportive and the classes are great! Equipment and gym in good condition. Challenging cross-fit workouts where you can always scale up/down to your activity levels. But the membership management is poor. I opted out after the first month trial for health reasons. They charged me for month 2, then processed a refund. Fast forward to month 3 and they’re still charging me. I’ve asked for a refund but no response after a day so I’m resorting to a review to seek attention and encourage the team to implement a modern (self-serve + automatic) way for users to opt out and as a consistent and correct source of membership status. Edited- thank you Tom for the prompt follow up, revising my rating upwards. Missing the final star for perceived value for money, it’s on the pricier side so it may be harder to derive the full value, but to each their own.

Planet Fitness - San Francisco

Martin Kramer: I initially joined Planet Fitness several years ago in St. Louis, MO. I was regularly billed $26.95 per month to my credit card for a Black Card membership. I moved back to SF full-time in August and switched my membership to the Montgomery St. location. In October, I see a Planet Fitness charge for $36.95. I inquire why I was charged $10 more this month and am told it was a late fee. I have never been late with a payment because I signed up for recurring billing with my credit card. 4 visits to the gym to talk to the front desk staff with no follow-up or phone call, I am told I am being charged a $10 late fee because I am paying with my credit card, not my bank account. I was never told this when I switched PF gyms online. I decide to cancel my membership, but before I am allowed to, I am forced to pay another month and another late fee. I just joined Fitness SF, and that was one of the best decisions Ive ever made! This SF Planet Fitness sucks. I had a much better experience at the PF locations I visited in St. Louis. They are bigger, friendlier, cleaner, air conditioned, less crowded and have free parking.

Kristine Schultz: I’m new … brand new to SF. I was looking for a gym that I was familiar with and I love doing cycling and core or strength. This place has exactly that and the owner is encouraging, positive and inspirational. The other staff are as well. I’m so glad I found them and I highly recommend!!

Live Fit Gym • Fairmont - San Francisco

Kristine Cavey: Great facilities. Clean. Filtered water. Lots and lots of options for working out. Cardio area, see video. Weights at varying levels, with multiple stations for 2-4 people doing the same workout. Plenty of space for stretching and warming up. Only con is the price. I’m not accustomed to paying a daily rate just to access the gym, much less $25. There was some weird miscommunication with the hotel and the gym (a separate business), but it got sorted out. Just another con of having an independent business housed within another.

Shadow wu: Great little gym that has pretty much all the basics in a very convenient location! It’s clean, has good ventilation, and usually not very crowded. People here are respectful. Dean (owner) is extremely responsive, kind, and on top of it.

Landon Lydig: Traveled from Seattle area to SLO for the weekend. stopped by Paragon BJJ for Sunday open mat. The gym was super friendly and inviting. Both instructors introduced themselves and chatted with me for a bit. I have traveled to many gyms and through out the country, and I have to say Paragon BJJ has been the best experience. Thank you

ever Pilates - San Mateo

Katherine Lee Vessella: Ever Pilates is my favorite place to be once the kids are in school/camp! The workouts are incredible, and theres not an instructor I dont love - makes it so easy to sign up for classes. You honestly, cant go wrong! Ever has the best team of instructors, who keep our classes full of variety and did I say oh so much fun?! Booking is easy to do online and we even get to choose our reformer ahead of time - which takes out the whole unknown of which reformers are taken when you walk in the room! :) Added bonus - an incredible pilates community filled with enthusiastic, supportive people to work out with!
