Morris Legacy Law, PC (formerly Morris Law Group, PLC) - El Dorado Hills K C: I would never recommend this attorney. He misrepresented me in my family case relating to my divorce and a premarital agreement.
I am originally from another country and spoke very limited English at the time. I was already married in my home country before coming to the U.S. in 2004-5. Within days of arriving, my spouse forced me to sign a premarital agreement (PMA). I had no understanding of what a prenup was, and I was naive and crying during the signing process.
David Morris was hired by my ex-husband β I never retained him, never met him beforehand, and never had a written or verbal contract with him. Despite this, he read the agreement to me superficially and took my signature while I was under duress. He never explained how the PMA worked, never advised me of my rights, and never warned me of the consequences. As a result, I signed away alimony, money, and other protections in case of divorce.
Years later, during my divorce proceedings, I approached David Morris. Instead of helping, he threatened me not to contact him. His office also made threatening calls. When he was later deposed in my case, he lied under oath. He falsely claimed that he had advised me not to sign the prenup and that I spoke good English. Because of his misrepresentations, I lost spousal support and millions of dollars.
He further stated that his office records had been destroyed in a fire, including my supposed retainer agreement β which I never signed in the first place. The judge issued him a warning for this but could not suspend him due to statute of limitations.
At the end of the day, David Morris protected his license instead of the truth. I lost my case because of him. He is dishonest and untrustworthy. I strongly advise against hiring him.
