1 /5 ProTech Ophthalmics: Recently we were in the need of securing business insurance for my company so we approached our Farmers insurance agent Rodney Crain to help us. The rate he came back was extremely high but at this point my company was uninsured and needed to have something in place to be protected so we told him we would take it for now but would be seeking a lower rate because I could not afford this high rate. Less than two weeks later I did find a much less expensive policy (thousands less) and called to cancel the current policy in which we already sent a check for $1300.00 to him. Weeks go by and we do not receive any refund back from Rodney Crain and during this time we keep emailing him to which he keeps putting us off. Finally I call him and he says we will be getting a small check back for around $75.00!! We contacted the underwriter of the policy and they actually said he was delinquent in making the payment for our policy in which we sent him a check to secure! I have the actual late payment notice from them and he still tried to double talk us about the whole situation. He then resigns as our agent and stops all contact. Basically he charged me $1300 for a policy which was only in affect for less than two weeks in which he never sent in the money?..huh? I have called Farmers and still am getting the runaround. I have also contacted the California Insurance Commission as well.
