5 /5 Cyrah Hawkins: We took our daughters to initial tryouts where every kid makes a team and they had fun. My 6 year old was unprepared with crocs on because she chose to audition last minute and they got her fitted and let her tryout. My 4 year old went potty in between routines and was completely lost when she came back and they worked with her. The front desk introduced themselves and gave me a mild tour upon arrival which was unexpected. Its a good atmosphere and theyre working on the AC. Its family ran and family oriented and they seem like a great cheer group to work with our youth. We had an awesome first experience.

1 /5 D.: I took my daughter there during Thanksgiving week. And we got to witness how rude the staff is there, especially the women with dark long hair. She was very rude to me and very inconsiderate. Will never go back there again.

5 /5 Jeanne Rotenberry: CG has become a second home for my daughter and an extended family. The owners and coaches truly care about their athletes. They have created a safe environment for their athletes and kiddos. They focus on developing their All Star teams the right way, with true sportsmanship, accountability and supporting each other. I know my daughter is not just another number here. If youre looking for a positive environment for your kid to cheer, or even just tumble, you wont regret bringing them to CG.

Eric Wonder: I’ve been coming to this San Pablo location since they first open the staff has always been super friendly and welcoming. Even though they don’t have a janitorial staff, employees do an amazing job at keeping the club up kept.

Planet Fitness - Richmond

Rod Steam: I’ve never been more disappointed with a gym. The staff at Planet Fitness was incredibly rude and unprofessional. On one of the occasions when I approached the front desk with a question, the employee barely acknowledged me and acted annoyed that I was even asking for help. It felt like she didn’t care at all about customer service. On top of that, the gym was dirty, with several machines out of order for days, and the locker rooms were a mess. I was hoping for a better experience, but the rude attitude from the employees made me feel unwelcome. This place is not worth the membership. I’m definitely canceling and won’t be back.

I want to add a suggestion… could be very useful if the manager adds some sandback for kicking and hitting, because this is a proactive cardio, I assure you that would be a resounding success in attracting customers. Bridges Fitness - El Cerrito

Susan Park: My husband and I attend classes 3-4 days a week. We love the instructor lead program and see results in our weight, balance and strength. We are both retired, and like to bike, hike, kayak and ski. Bridges program is the perfect training to keep us healthy and able to do other sports without injury. It is almost like having a personal trainer without the cost. Each session can be tailored to individual needs. It is also a small community of like minded individuals who encourage each other to keep fit and to keep with the program!

Traverse Fitness - Richmond

C B: Traverse has been wonderful for my kiddo. The coaches have been super supportive. They’ve been great at keeping my son actively engaged and encouraging a positive/growth mindset in my son. My son had started doing the open gym a little while ago - traverse is a great “ninja” (parkour-type) gym with lots of space for kids (and adults!) to drop in. Because of the great facility and the positive interactions with the helpful and encouraging coaches that supervise open gym, my son felt inspired to take classes at traverse. Not too long after starting classes, and with the encouragement of more great coaches, my son wanted to join the traverse team - and loves it! The summer camps and school break camps have also been a really fun way for my kiddo to be active during school breaks. Very happy that we found traverse - highly recommend!

Bay Area Barbell - Richmond

Julian Roy: Probably the best option for strength training in the Richmond/Oakland area. Power bars, combo racks, and calibrated plates galore. Heavy pulls and chalking up strongly encouraged! Would recommend!

gregg naka: the equipment and all are in working order. there is tons of space in the gym - not like planet phatness. it is phone and tv free - a blessing. im there to work out, not listen to game shows. the hours ares somewhat limited, but the lower price reflects that. plus, if you are on the treadmills stationary bikes, etc, there is a pretty nice view of a little valley

Lakeridge Athletic Club - El Sobrante

Joseph Guthrie: I have been going to Lakeridge for close to 10 years. Lakeridge is such a great place, clean, welcoming, and full of energy. The best part is the people, especially Cherie. She’s always so kind and friendly, and really makes you feel at home every time you walk in.

24 Hour Fitness - El Cerrito

Jeremy Cadwell: This is a pretty good gym overall. There are plenty of free weights, a fair amount of semi-new machines, nothing top-tier, but most of them work. Im leaving this review because the attendant at the desk said this was the only way to make a suggestion. The recovery room with massage chairs is a nice feature, but they have a TV in there that is basically just an advertisement for 24hr fitness, the gym you already pay for. Guests dont want to watch this. Maybe put the college football game on, a baseball game, or some kind of sports related content. Nobody likes to watch commercials for ZUMBA or stare at music video images when we dont hear that videos music. Also, the tiles in the bathrooms are a real fall risk. They get very slippery with people walking around dripping wet. Someone is going to get hurt in there. Otherwise, this gym is better than Planet Fitness and some Crunch Fitness locations.
