Jacqueline B Emma and her studio are a hidden gem. She has been doing my lashes and brows since April of this year when she was at another location and I cannot recommend her enough. Her attention to detail and expertise with the depth of her education has me able to go 3 weeks in between lash fills and still get compliments on how good they look. For an industry that has little regulation and too many sketchy in random people’s home “studios” it’s easy to be wary, but with how clean and hygenic the studio is I’ve never had any concerns which is a must when someone is working so closely to your eyes.

Colleen Masbruch I was recently at an outdoor wedding in Santa Barbara and am not use to other people doing my make up because I always feel that they don’t quite get what I’m trying to achieve and I look over done. I am a woman of a certain age and know myself and I communicated this to Emma and she not only made me look radiant, she also did my hair. I also was able to observe others at the wedding party that she did and they all GLOWED with a natural beauty which is so California. I can’t recommend her enough. If you want an artist to bring out your best, look no further. In fact I would request that she do your entire party: hair and makeup!!

S S Emma does such an amazing job. She is not only good at what she is doing but her prices are very manageable. To find a price with this quality in santa barbara is very rare. Its a gem finding someone like her in santa barbara. She coordinates the lash you want really well, they still look fresh after 3 weeks and I literally got so many compliments on my lashes at work. The studio is also very clean and beautiful. I love my lashes so much. They look amazing.

Amber Greene I fist started going to Jazzmin for my hair in 2016 after calling another salon and being referred to her for "the best box braids in Santa Barbara" Since then I have had braids, Brazilian blowouts, cuts and colors and everything in between. Anjelica Partida I am very sensitive and picky with my eyebrows. I have been gettin my eyebrows waxed from Celeste for years now. Not only does she ask you what you want but she follows through with the vision you have in mind. I plan to only work with her, I completely trust her with my eyebrows. I also have been working with Ella ever since she moved to Santa Barbara. I was a bit nervous to try any body services that were offered, but she was so patient and would explain everything to me thoroughly before any treatment. She is now my go to, I love that she offers a variety of services for the body and it’s the best way to self-care.

Beatriz Pina Ella was facialist and the experience was incredible. Highly recommend!! It’s holistic, relaxing, and most importantly she doesn’t prick at your skin causing more irritation. Celeste is amazing for my sugaring of brows and upper lip, no pain and such a great time!

Kimberly LeFrancois My experience at the Brow Lounge was fantastic. I usually get my brows threaded but scheduled my first brow wax in a long time. I was helped by both Adilene and Celeste and both are fantastic. They took the time to understand what I was looking for and what worked best for my skin. They were very accommodating when we decided to make a last minute change to sugaring. My brows turned out fantastic with no damage to my skin. I will be back and would highly recommend them both!

Stacey Jones I got a scalp facial here and loved it! I felt so well cared for during the entire appointment. I loved the professional and high quality products used throughout the whole process. My hair is now performing so much better (with less product) than it did before my scalp treatment. A gem of a salon, would definitely return.

Jenny DiNardo Maria did a fantastic job! I brought a picture and she gave me exactly what I wanted, which involved cutting roughly 6-8 inches off my hair! She was gentle and kind and asked for feedback at a certain point to get the length right, and seemed very experienced. Also gave me the cutest little curtain bangs. Sean Ovelmen I came is last minute like 10 minutes before closing for a haircut and they took great care of me. They even stayed a bit late to make sure I was taken care of and happy with my cut. I don’t remember the name of the young lady who cut my hair but she did a fantastic job.

Maya Bell It’s not a place for natural hair, even though they’ll swear up and down that they can handle it. Spoiler alert: they absolutely cannot. I’m not even sure they have the right products, let alone the magical skills required. I went in for a perm—specifically loose curls—because my thick 4C hair could use a little help, and let’s be honest, I’ve always dreamed of having loose curls. I asked if they could manage my hair type, and of course, they confidently said yes. But I walked out looking almost exactly the same, only worse. Now I have mats in my hair because, surprise surprise, she didn’t even try. Here’s a tip: if you don’t know how to work with my hair, maybe don’t do a lazy job just to finish faster. And yes, I take some of the blame because I should have stopped the moment I realized the person doing my hair had clearly never seen 4C hair before in her life. I really should have stopped. And let’s not forget, a perm is supposed to be a strong treatment, right? Well, it barely did anything except gift me a bunch of mats thanks to her stellar work with the rods and all. She just washed my hair with, I don’t know, shampoo (I think?) and then dove straight into the rods, which, correct me if I’m wrong, isn’t how this is supposed to work. She didn’t even comb my hair. You can’t skip steps with Black hair because you’re in a hurry. But hey, I guess she didn’t get that memo. When it was time to pay, they had two questions: was I happy with the results, and did it meet my expectations? But instead of circling “yes” or “no” like a normal person, I somehow managed to circle “or.” Yes, you read that right—“or.” The same lady who butchered my hair was also handling my payment, and I didn’t even realize she was watching me circle those “or”s. She asked if I meant “yes” (because, of course, that’s what she wanted to hear), but after the day I’d had, and with my hair looking like a rat’s nest, I just said “no” and went back to make sure I circled “no” on both questions so there’d be no more confusion. And yes, I still tipped her because the people there were nice—just not truthful.

Julianne Gianetto Sierra has done my hair a couple times now and I cannot rave about how great she is! Recently I wanted a re-adjustment on my color and they got me in right away and worked with me to get it exactly how I wanted it (Im pretty picky with my hair, so definitely deserves recognition). Really great customer service, and everyone at Salt is so kind and accommodating. I will definitely be returning :)

louisa J Always love going to Salt; Its super easy to text Sierra and book appointments quickly without the hassle of the app which is also easy to use but of course shes so customer-focused and responsive shes great at texting; rare in this day & age! Super conscientious about getting back to you & getting you in. I go in for my color which is always great but today booked a quick haircut and she completely accommodated me by letting me leave without the blow-out and discounted it off which is incredibly helpful because I dont need the blow-out (my hair is up all day for work) and it makes it into an affordable luxury which I love. Everyone at the salon is friendly and sociable and you always feel like youre part of the Salt fam. Its a new gem in town and the salon has a unique feel with super modern & clean minimal set-ups which actually make a lot more sense than the tried and true stations that most salons op for; I love their re-imagining of what a salon station should be - its great. Free waters and drinks while youre there and its easy to get in quickly. Great spot - give it a try!

Julia Drobish Tracy had me hooked from the first time I came in because she is not only extremely talented, timely, accommodating, and responsive, but she is so much fun to talk with. In the handful of sessions I have done with her, we have established an awesome relationship and I always joke it’s a hair appointment and therapy rolled into one. I can tell she truly cares about her clients and puts a lot of effort in to make them feel cared about. I am in school nearby from out of state and I was desperately in need of a hairdresser here and Tracy is a dream come true! Her prices are beyond reasonable and she takes payment in invoices if someone else helps pay for your appointments. I told all of my friends about Tracy and now she sees the majority of my roommates! If I could give 10 stars, I would.

Evgeny Redekop The worst haircut Ive ever gotten. Absolutely terrible experience with Kevin. I showed him precisely what I want with the photo. The whole session was finished in 20 minutes, the haircut turned out to be absolutely not what I requested, my had now is asymmetric, with a lot of obvious issues where he would cut too much or too little and would just leave it like that. It was my first and the last time I go with this master.

Art Gil Kevin Graff by far is one of the best barbers here in town. Kevin takes the time to listen to exactly what I wanted. The delivery of the haircut was impeccable - precise, stylish, and exactly what I wanted. The attention to detail and the care kevin puts into his work is impeccable. I left feeling not only satisfied with my haircut but also grateful for such a fantastic experience. Ill definitely be returning!

Angelo Joseph Bulahan Ive been going to Kevin for about 4-5 months now and every time I am very impressed with the final result. This past week was no different as he got me right for my sisters wedding. I was extremely satisfied with my fade haircut and I cannot wait to see all of the professional photos that were taken. I assure anyone reading this that they will not be disappointed with Kevin, especially if they want to be the freshest person walking UCSBs campus.

Wasted 30 minutes of my time. I’m a long time customer but I’m never coming back. Highly recommend you never come here, they don’t give good haircuts anyway.

Brandon Broukhim If I could leave -5 stars I would… I asked for the same hair style as I currently had just a bit shorter all around. Lady ended up nearly shaving my whole head off and left me with a buzz cut when I never asked for such a thing! Very vague with the way the hair styles are described with numbers like “1”, “2” and “3” whatever those mean. Stay away from this place at all costs

Gabe did a great job with great conversation and in the perfect amount of time. The vibe is cool, professional, and respectful with a some old school barber shop character that I was hoping for. It’s too bad I don’t live in the area because I would make this my regular place to go.

Belrose Estate Jewelers Old school barbershop with new school vibe. Great crew of younger guys with skills and excellent service. You can walk in or make an appointment and you will definitely leave here looking and feeling better than when you came. Gabe and Rick always treat you like gentlemen.

James Delahoussaye One of the best haircuts I’ve had in idk how long. Super meticulous. I’m just visiting for the weekend but I’d almost drive back just for another trim in the future. Also check out the great coffee shop and used bookstore close by.

Dani Zhou My son went in to get his haircut, a custom cut, and the barber started cutting okay then when my son showed him the picture, he realized he cut to short and just kept cutting, messing up my sons hair.

Martin Shiah I was visiting from LA and walked in without an appointment. Armando was my barber and he was professional and gave me exactly what I was looking for. The whole crew there is talented and the owner runs a tight ship. All the bad reviews are in my opinion a result of folks not being familiar with how barbershops operate. This is a small but very busy shop. If you don’t have an appointment make sure you communicate properly and make yourself known. Don’t just sit there assuming you’ll be catered to hand and foot. Don’t be entitled. I visit Goleta at least once a year and this will be my go-to shop from now on when I’m in town. I paid more than double for a cut down in Santa Barbara and these upscale barbers are doing too much and charging high because their rent is too high and add too many unnecessary amenities, in my opinion. The free banter and laughs are a nice touch. This is how old school barbershops are and it’s an authentic experience.
