They have downsized and moved locations, but I still get the same comfy massage chair and attentive, careful service. They take pride in their work and will go to great lengths to make sure you are happy.

Vicki Kades This is my go to place. The ladies are sweet and they do a good job. Its not the prettiest nail salon in south Pasadena but its the best value. Quick and cheep. $35 for a mani/pedi

Rosezetta Upshaw This was probably the best manicure I’ve ever had. So perfect and shiny and so GENTLE! I came 3-4 times before writing a review. I had a different person each time. Everyone was really good. Amy is the best! There are 2 Amys lol Ask for Amy with the short hair. She is very sweet and friendly and an absolute perfectionist and so very gentle with removing the powder dip and filing my nails. Thank you Amy! I also love that they have self-serve water bottles and snacks bags (doritos, nutter butter, etc) in the front. I rarely eat junk food but I still think it’s a nice touch. Maybe add a little trail mix for me. :) This place is recently under new ownership. I stopped coming years ago when the previous owners ran it due to a nail tech having a bad attitude. These new owners are doing a great job and I’m happy I can write them a glowing review. The prices are reasonable. $50 powder dip. $28 pedicure. I got the $40 upgraded pedicure and I appreciate that it did come with a lot of extras: scrub, cream, hot stone massage , hot towel wrap, etc. to make it significantly different than the basic pedicure.

Jasmine Chi This was my second time coming in and I’m SO happy with the results - I got a gel-x manicure and regular pedicure. Their customer service and attention to detail is incredible and the prices for their services are great! If you’re in or near South Pasadena, I’d recommend making an appointment - you won’t regret it.

I felt comfortable getting my nails done here because I can tell the owner maintains good hygiene. My nail technician was very kind and thorough. She took her time with my pedicure and it turned out beautifully in the end. My feet not only look nice, but theyre also revived and are less achy. Ill definitely be back!

I felt comfortable getting my nails done here because I can tell the owner maintains good hygiene. My nail technician was very kind and thorough (male with glasses) he took his time with my full set and it turned out beautiful ! My other nail technician who did my pedicure was also very gentle and kind. I regret not asking for the names but I will definitely be back!!! Worth the money!!

Rebecca Avanesian Crystal did a great job with my birthday nails! We both loved them so much. I got a GelX set with the design for $100 total. I recommend making an appointment. The prices here are the same as my old place in Old Town, and this salon is better! Nice techs, clean space, cute interior. Plus, free street parking!

Lexie Lan I had an amazing experience at this nail salon! Crystal did my nude gel manicure, and it was absolutely perfect. She was incredibly skilled and efficient—it only took 30 minutes, and the results were flawless. The price was very reasonable at $38, Highly recommend!

Sasha R I have had my nails done by most of the nail techs and they are all wonderful - very kind, attentive, and accommodating. They always make sure my nails look perfect; even if I’m ready to pay and walk out the door, if they notice something is a tiny bit off, they will offer to keep going to make sure it’s perfect. It’s a small place, no frills, but very calming and clean, and it doesn’t smell like chemicals like some other salons.

High Society Pets Care Team have come here three times. good experience! It is more expensive money-wise, which is my only drawback, but it’s worth it for the quality. Very organized booking system, dedicated-to-the-craft staff. Staff are very congruent and professional. Owned by a woman and you can tell – the way it is designed and laid out is really strategic and beautiful. Comfortable feeling of laid-back luxury. next to a cute coffee shop that is nice to pop into afterwards. it’s a different experience. Worth checking out!

Robyn Gutierrez I’m just here to talk about the Japanese gel mani/pedi I got on 12/23/24. It has almost been a month and there are NO CHIPS, PEELING, or CRACKING in the polish. This stuff is legit and the girls that did my nails did such a great job! I’m just sad I don’t live there anymore otherwise I’d definitely become a regular. And I’m pretty sure there isn’t Japanese gel where I live so I guess I’m going to ride these holidays colors until I can’t anymore!

Anna Yu I moved to this area a few months ago, and I discovered this salon and have been coming here ever since. I love BYOUNG and LONA! They also use a platform that makes it super easy to make an appointment. Highly recommend!

Octavia Tulip TL;DR - I love MDB, always get their builder gel manicures, but was getting consistent infections. After getting a botched manicure elsewhere, I came back and they made sure to sanitize everything especially well. Left with an incredible manicure and infection free hands - Ill be coming back again and again. Original post: While I love coming here - great work from Anna and complimentary mimosas - out of 7 times I’ve come here for my manicure, all but two of those times, I’ve gotten an infection in one of my fingers. When I walk out of the salon, all seems fine. The next day, one of my fingers will be slightly hotter than the rest, and then in a day or so, it gets painful to the point of having to avoid using that finger. My finger will be visibly red and swollen, hot to the touch, and painful. The first time I reported it to the manager, she offered to pay any medical bills I incurred if I went to the doctor for it, but no change to the sanitation of the tools. Honestly, I’ve forgotten about the infections after it happens, schedule a builder gel refill, and two, three days after, painfully reminded of what happens when I go here. It’s now so consistent, I can’t forget. It’s a shame, I loved coming here, drove half an hour out of my way just for this salon. I’ll be looking elsewhere for a studio that doesn’t predictably give me p*s filled infections in my fingers. My finger is still somewhat tender, two weeks on. EDIT 1: in response to the owners of Maison De Beaute’s response to my honest review - These have not been hangnails. I know what hangnails are and how to deal with them. These are infections under the skin, creating pus. I have clearly been able to see the dremel nail bits used to grind away the top layers of builder gel when getting a refill are not cleaned between customers. They are dusty from prior use and sitting out, waiting to be used again, or already on the nail drill from previous use when starting a manicure. EDIT 2: After going to a *different* nail salon to get builder gel I ended up with my skin broken on three different fingers from overzealous filing by the tech (just my luck), and the builder gel so thin as to practically be worthless. My nails were threatening to break with any all too sudden movement, so I held my breath and booked another appointment at MDB just 2 days after the last one. (It wouldve been the next day, save for a photoshoot I was on) I called in the morning before my appointment, explaining my skin was broken in multiple places and very tender, and asked them if they could double sanitize everything for me - especially because there was essentially an open door on my nails to get infected again. I felt a bit embarrassed coming back to them but everyone was sweet as could be. Anna sanitized every last nail drill bit in front of me, used brand new files and showed me the sealed package the sanitized tools were in. I appreciated the transparency, and willingness to go the extra mile after my critical review. Anna was so gentle with my nails, she really took her time, and would have even drilled off the builder gel entirely if need be, but I was able to stand the sting of the acetone. My nails came out looking fantastic, and they were strong enough to withstand my daily use again. I couldnt stop admiring them. Its now days later. I did have to continually cover my hands with lotion and neosporin from the previous overfiling that was done to them, but Im confident in the sanitzation and safety of the manicure I received from MDB this time. Im eternally grateful to the staff at MDB and especially Anna for her level headed response, and making sure my previous problems were not repeated. Im so grateful she went out of her way to sanitize the tools in front of me and show me the new tools and files she used. Im glad I took the chance to come back one last time to have my nails fixed. They look stunning, and theyre strong, and healthy once again, exactly the way I want them to be. Thank you so so much Anna and Maison De Beaute. I am a regular again.

Katie Benoist I have tried alot of nail places in Greensboro and I have to say Vera has been the best nail technician I have ever had. My nails always look great when she is done, but more so than that…they last for weeks! I am really hard on my nails and usually they chip or break within a week, but since she has been doing them, they last for about 3 weeks. Also the entire staff is kind and makes sure everyone there is happy and having a great experience. If you are looking for a great place to get your nails done, this is the place to try!

The salon has a nice peaceful atmosphere. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a professional nail tech and a no drama kind of salon. Sit back relax and treat yourself. Mia Tralongo I’ve been coming here for a while now, and each visit impresses me even more. Jasmine is truly an artist—I completely trust her expertise. I always get the gel builder, and my nails last over four weeks until my next fill. On top of that, Y2K is incredibly convenient, with easy parking, a clean and welcoming atmosphere, and fair prices. Couldn’t be happier!

Taylor Smith This is my 3rd time here and have had the best service each time. The nail technicians are super friendly and welcoming. I got a builder gel mani w/ paraffin and small decal and a gel pedi with a callus removal. Service was great and I am so happy with my nails! I’ve had gel in the past and they would last the full 2 weeks..they’d chip at the 1 week marks after getting the builder gel ( or I think it might be called gel overlay) my nails have NOT CHIPPED!

Super gentle with the drill, and variety of payment options! My nails look amazing! The place is decorated very cutely and is clean!

Cruzado Jessika I’m absolutely thrilled with the amazing work Jasmine did on my nails! She was so attentive, checking in with me at each step to make sure I was happy. The only downside is that I live a bit too far away, but I’m seriously considering making a special trip on the weekend just to see her again!

Amanda This place sucks! I felt rushed not relaxed at all. I got an acrylic overlay and I didn’t even want an overlay I wanted just gel nails but the lady just had to up sale instead of listening to the customer and she did not give me a good manicure at all. I got deluxe pedicure and Mary sucks at acrylic toes they are way too thin and she needs to work on her shaping. I’m not going here again I paid $144 for deluxe pedicure and acrylic overlay gel nails definitely not worth it service sucked!

I was seated at 5:50 PM and, despite patiently waiting, no one assisted me by the time I left at 6:30 PM. I feel it’s important to point out that the other customer was white, which left me questioning the fairness and inclusivity of the service here. Throughout my entire wait, there was no apology or explanation for the delay, which added to my frustration and disappointment. I value professionalism and respect, and unfortunately, neither were demonstrated during my visit. I hope this feedback serves as an opportunity for the business to reflect on its practices and improve its approach to customer service, ensuring that all clients are treated with the same level of care and respect.

Sofia Avilez They always do such a great job, but my recent experience left me heartbroken. I’ve been coming to this salon for a few months now, and I’ve always loved their work. They’re talented, and I’ve never had a bad result—until this time, not because of the nails, but because of how I was treated. Last week, I got a new set, and while the nails looked great, after a few days, I realized I wasn’t feeling the color I had chosen. I decided to come back three days later to ask if I could change the color, and I was more than willing to pay for the service. I didn’t think it was a big deal—I just wanted to love my nails, especially since I’d be wearing them for weeks. When I got there, I felt like everyone was upset with me. The person who worked on my nails was clearly annoyed, didn’t talk to me at all, and was rough with my nails, which honestly hurt me emotionally. The whole salon seemed upset, and I felt so guilty and embarrassed. Even though I felt uncomfortable, I still tipped the person who worked on my nails out of courtesy because they provided a service for me. It felt like the right thing to do, but it hurt to feel like I was being punished for simply asking for something I thought was small. When I asked the receptionist about their policy, she explained that they only do color changes the same day as the initial service, saying it’s easier for them that way. She told me, “We wish you would have told us sooner,” and while I understand the policy, the way they handled it made me feel awful—like I was a huge inconvenience. I want to make it clear that I’m not upset with the salon. I’m just deeply sad and hurt by how this situation was handled. I didn’t mean to upset anyone or cause trouble—I just wanted to feel happy with my nails. I’m scared to come back now because I don’t want to be treated poorly again or made to feel like I’m a burden. I really do like this salon. They’re so talented, and they always do amazing work. I hope that in the future, situations like this can be approached with more kindness and understanding because this experience has been weighing on me ever since, and it’s left me feeling so sad.

Ying Liang Finally got my nails done for the first time ever and I’m thrilled I found Pure Nails Spa! The service for the price is absolutely fantastic. Very nice ambience, the location is currently undergoing renovation. Easy and cheap parking in the schoolhouse garage nearby. I’ve always struggled with broad and flats nails so I was interested in Gel-X. I described the type of nails I wanted (almond tips, nude/natural and not-too-long), and Tara did a phenomenal job bringing them to life! My nails have never looked prettier. The extensions lasted a full month, and might have lasted longer. A few weeks in my nails grew too long so I trimmed them into a different shape, filled them with builder gel, and switched out the color. Overall very happy and hope to be back soon!

Kperry Perry This is my 3rd time coming to shop for Gel pedicure and I was disappointed with the service today. They’re pricey but I don’t mind paying when I’m satisfied with service. Today was mediocre and maybe because I came later in the day. There was not cutting of cuticles or removal and ingrown. I have never had to make a request for special treatment, it is part of the general service. Typically, you’re greeted and offered beverage and I even had to request this, something was off today and I will return because it may have an isolated incident. Overall , I like the overall cleanliness and services

Initially booked an appointment online for a gel manicure, but changed it to a pedicure in-person, which was no problem. Lucy, my nail tech, was so gentle and checked in with me multiple steps of the way to ensure everything was going ok. They also had complimentary beverages. The environment was very relaxing. I will definitely be making this place my regular nail salon from now on!

julie faude TAMMIE gave me the most beautiful pedicure. She truly took her time, got rid of every square inch of extra skin. I’m concerned she’s going to put herself out of business, because this pedicure was done so carefully, and the polish was placed so perfectly, that it is going to last forever! The setting is really nice, airy and bright. This nail salon is across from the Trader Joe’s in Pasadena. Enjoy!

Kari LaBomme Ive been going to Angel Baby for about six years now. I have my favorite Techs, and they always try to fit me in, even without an appointment. Ive had everything from dip to acrylic tips and all kinds of pretty stuff. They do really good work and the atmosphere is nice. They are also upgrading all the time, the newest thing being an electronic check in system. Lucy has been doing my pedicures for almost five years and she takes such good care of me! Cindy runs a wonderful salon.

The technician says it’s impossible, but it is as long as you use more clear gel. Pretty much I feel she is in a rush to get it done

Sonia R I would give zero stars if I could. I went in for a gel pedi last Sunday and the nail tech left me with several cuts on my toes that took nearly a week to scab up (meaning it was an exposed wound for several days). I also requested a callous remover, and that resulted in super dry and cracked heels that make it nearly unbearable to walk. I should have just asked for my money back after paying. Save your money and go elsewhere. It’s not worth the literal pain.

Tabitha Kirkendall Excellent attention to detail, the technicians here are very clean and thorough with their work. I went in for a pedicure and received one of the best massages Ive had in a long time. The pedicure I received included callus removal, paraffin wax dip, multiple leg and foot masks, and my technician also ensured to remove a slightly ingrown nail Ive recently developed. At 9 months pregnant, I cant reach my own feet to do much TLC, so all the effort and care was much appreciated. For $50, this was a great value in my opinion. Will definitely be coming back for future pedicures!

Abigail Forbes They told me they could do the look in the photo/video I showed them multiple times, but when we were halfway through my gel-x i found out they didn’t actually have those chrome colors. The nails didn’t come out how I asked, but they were pretty after I pivoted to something else. I wouldn’t be upset if they lasted, but both of my thumb nails popped off after 1 day. They didn’t buff the back of the nail extension so it’s super easy for them to come off. I paid $80 total for nails that lasted me one day. On the bright side the lady who did mine was gentle.

c hernandez Mary is so incredibly talented!!! She has cut and styled my hair for years and always makes me look like a million bucks. She also gives the most amazing pumpkin extract facials. While the mask is setting she even massages my arms and hands. She always goes the extra mile and ensures that you go away feeling you have had an amazing spa day!

Lisa MT I go to get my brows threaded here. Mary - there are two Marys, Mary in the salon is excellent. The other Mary in the area where they do nails is very nice and does good nails but I would stick to the Mary in the salon area for threading and all salon services. She is very friendly and understands your needs quickly.

sarah Mendoza I got my nails done here and I was not happy with the outcome. I believe her name was Tracy. I tried to tell her multiple times my nail was crooked and she just ignored me. She used waaay too much glue to the point were my fingers stuck to hers and I have a bunch of glue under my nail. The tip of my finger was glued to the nail. It felt very rushed. I asked for some jewels and she didn’t place them nicely, they were kinda just thrown on quickly and not really centered or spaced out like I had asked. For $70+ tip I was expecting better than what I got.

Katherine Twomey First time at this nail salon and I was very impressed. All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I got structured gel nails and a gel pedicure and both were absolutely fantastic! I used to always do dip at other salons and it always looked thick and chunky this structured gel looks beautifully thin and even and it is still as strong as the dip. They did great shaping and cuticle work too! I would definitely recommend going here! : )

Jon Spero WORTH YOUR $$$$$ !!! I got a manicure and pedicure and when I got home I looked at my toes and almost had to get a new wife because of how hot my toes looked. So I went back the next day they kindly let me bathe them in praise but hours later it seemed like maybe I should just go home. On top of that my wife needed me to do normal things so I had to go. Annie is the best though and my tootsies have never looked better.

Julianna Sy Best gel x nails Ive ever had. They look and feel super natural, I love the color. I was a walk-in on a Sunday morning and they took me right away! Caitlyn did my set and she is great, and all the other nail techs are super sweet and talented. They always make sure youre getting exactly what you want for a good price. My go-to nail spot :)
