Joy Yun Cherry is amazing, and I really wanted to come on here and emphasize how much care she put into my hair. I went in for a digital perm at 3pm that ended up taking longer than expected. Even though the salon closed at 6, she stayed late and didnt rush through any of the steps to ensure the perm came out nicely (and it did!). She was clearly very skilled in what she was doing, and I really trusted her opinion on what would look best. On top of that, during my time there, I saw several people come in and leave with, what I thought, were beautiful haircuts specific to them! This is all to say that, although they are more expensive than some other places, I think the stylists here have a really good eye and also care a lot about their customers. Definitely recommend this salon!

Hannah Absolutely 0 stars if I could. I called to make an appt and told the receptionist my hair length and she said it would be $100. When I showed up, the lady who cut my hair said my hair was long and thick so she’d charge me $140. So unprofessional! She then agreed on $120 which I was still pissed about. My go to in La Jolla charges $80 and I walk out feeling amazing. Now the worst part- she butchered my hair. I kept telling her to blend the layers- because it was so damn choppy- but she kept just misunderstanding and cutting shorter and shorter. I had to use Google translate about 10 times but she didn’t try to understand. This was the most stressful experience. Now if she actually cut my hair right it would be worth it. But SO awful. $140 for the shoddiest hair cut ever. Daylight robbery

Melissa Rivera Today we went in for my daughter to get her hair done. Vicky and her team member were fantastic! Vicky did an amazing job cutting, washing, and highlighting my daughter’s hair. The results were stunning, and all for a fraction of the cost compared to other salons. The highlights looked so natural and blended perfectly with her hair. Vicky also taught me how to take care of the highlights. We are so grateful to have this salon! Highly recommend Vicky’s salon for anyone looking for top-notch hair care at a great price.

Arieso Green From the moment I walked in, I felt so welcomed and comfortable! The space is clean and stylish, and the staff are incredibly friendly and professional. The stylist listened carefully to what I wanted and gave me a perfect haircut and color that exceeded my expectations. I left feeling so confident and can’t wait to come back again!

Justin Balderston Great experience with Paulina. She was really receptive to my idea and did a great cut. Easy to get along with. I got a modern mullet and she shaped it just the way I wanted. Would definitely recommend!

Rohan Vartak Great Haircut, Paulina gave me an hair cut, it was quick like I got done in 30 mins. It was amazing and exactly how I wanted it to be. The place was very clean and well lit. The receptionist was very friendly and the appointment was on time. A really good experience.

Mahnaz Vahedi I recently had an amazing experience with Vanna and Ann, my hairstylists, who spent nearly seven hours coloring my hair, and the results were outstanding! They are incredibly kind and professional, making the long session feel enjoyable and comfortable. Ann even gave me two relaxing scalp massages during the wash, which was such a thoughtful touch. I had a wonderful time with both of them and highly recommend Vanna and Ann to anyone looking for beautiful hair color and a great salon experience

Alina Dorina I recently moved to the area and needed to find a new place. So happy I found this one! First of all, it’s very clean! Second, Ann is fantastic! She is knowledgeable, works fast, and very delicate! I have very fine hair that’s hard and she was attentive! I will come back!

Thao Nguyen I have been a loyal customer to Ann for many years. She has never failed to impress me with her skills and professionalism. So many times, I get complimented on my hair from most of everyone I know. One thing I really like about getting my haircut by Ann is she treats your hair with care and love. Never has she tried to upsell me on anything unnecessary. I highly recommend booking with her if you want to be showered with compliments for your hair.

Bahareh Afshar I have now been going to Beyond Veneer for 6 years and it is truly my happy place! Capri welcomed me in and over the years I have now come to each of the ladies there. Madelyn, Beverly, Camilla, and just this past week I had an appointment with Alejandra. I always leave there feeling like a new and improved version of myself. My hair is regularly complimented on a daily basis and i have sent every curly haired person to them. They are not just curl, but healthy hair specialists. In the coming months they will have a new location up and running and I am so excited for where they will go, but I know I will always come to them for my cuts. Rachel Brown I had such a great experience here for my first curly cut! Madelyn was amazing, she answered all my questions and gave me SO much information I didnt know about how to take care of my curls. Even with all of that info it wasnt too overwhelming and I was basically taught that less is more, which is amazing to hear as a low maintenance person. She also listened to what I wanted and didnt chop off all my hair which has always happened at prior haircuts. My curls finally look how I want them- hydrated and defined! Will definitely be coming back.

Cynthia Robles Friendly, clean and quick. I have long thick hair and I always get a perfect cut. Staff is always friendly and listens to my requests.

Yuya O. Cuts are great as always (this is for male Asian style hair cut, so can’t comment on other styles) they also added pretty nice mirrors which is a nice aesthetic upgrade.

Rong Mao The owner did a great cut for my hair. She seems to have great techniques for layering my short hair. Just for that, I think I would go back next time. However, the wash of my hair was really quick, and the assistant didn’t put on any conditioner on my hair. I compare this to the really relaxing hair wash and massage that you get at a Japanese hair salon in the same price range.

Sean Chen I have been to this place for a few years. Last year, I came here again and realized my old hairdresser is gone and not sure how the new hairdresser will do to my hair. It turns out she is really experienced and even better than the previous one. I am not young anymore and have grown grey hair over the years. The hairdresser Mimi has done a great job on make the best of it. The price is not that expensive, so I really recommend Mimi and this place.

Danice Delossantos Did a walk in with no appt and right away was able to do an ombré, Brazilian blowout and trim. Bobby did the color alone then Mimi came later to help with the blowout. Bobby + everyone at the salon was so nice. All of it was very fast and efficient, total time was about 5 hours. They stayed past closing time just to finish everything. Color and cut came out amazing and hair looks and feels so healthy now, will def be coming back here for future hair needs. If you need to get your hair done, come here and ask for Bobby! :)

Sean Liu I’ve been going to Expert Hair Do in Sunnyvale for a while now, and it’s always a fantastic experience. Minnie is my go-to barber, and she’s truly amazing at what she does. Her consistency and attention to detail are unmatched. She has never disappointed and always delivers excellent work. Whether it’s a simple trim or something more styled, Mini pulls off the perfect result every time. On top of her skills, she’s friendly and professional, making each visit enjoyable. I highly recommend Minnie and Expert Hair Do if you’re looking for top-notch service!

Maria Filsinger Interrante Update to the original review 2 years later: in addition to the wonderful things below, I am astounded at how beautifully the cuts grow out - due to my schedule (and budget) I’m not able to get my hair cut as frequently as I would like, and 13 months after my last cut the shape still looks beautiful grown out, which is such a testament to the skill of their stylists. Have also recommended many friends to the salon over the years and all have had rave reviews! What a gift to have this place. Couldn’t recommend this place more highly! Finally made the decision to get my (2C) hair cut at a place that specializes in curly hair and am so, so happy with every part of the process. My stylist Nelly was incredible, she asked about my goals and went above and beyond with a cut that both addressed the concerns I had AND brought out a tremendous amount of natural curl that had been weighed down. Her attention to detail and meticulousness throughout the cut was exceptional. Sandra, the owner, was also in the salon and along with Nelly offered really helpful, science-based hair care and product tips. Won’t be getting my hair cut anywhere else as long as I live in the area and so happy I found this place!!

Lucia W. Got a perm wave and haircut with Sophie. The results are stunning - best perm I’ve ever had. I showed her a photo of a curly hairstyle I liked and she replicated the results. The total came out to $350 (not including tip). I have very straight, difficult to perm, below shoulder length hair and I wanted medium tight curls. It was a lot of work for Sophie! I loved that she was very meticulous. My new hairdresser

Daryl C Had my long, layered hair trimmed by 3" and had bangs added. Layers I had were maintained. For the price, its actually not bad and would go back here for trims or a basic haircut. Paid additional $15 + tip for a blowdry and having very long hair.

Julie Her This hidden gem salon is so wonderful! Mary is professional, experienced, so wonderful, and so caring. She wants you to really explain the cut/style you want and she wants you to feel happy about the results so she is always checking in throughout the haircut. My hair is alive and healthy again. It’s the perfect length! She didn’t make it too short at all. The layers are all even and perfect! Thank you SOO much Mary!

Sean Sczecienski I am in town to watch my Lions smack the 49ers to go to the Super Bowl and decided I needed a cut, even though I was stalling it for the Super Bowl in Vegas. I was skeptical when I arrived, but I am so glad I stayed and committed to it. This might be one of the best cuts Ive had in over a year. The attention to detail was amazing. My only negative about this haircut was that it was done out of town, and Ill probably never be able to get it again! 10/10 would recommend

Linze Shi Absolutely atrocious experience. This was less of a haircut and more of a speedrun challenge. The barber spent just a few minutes hacking away at my hair, leaving it uneven and completely unblended—clearly more interested in getting rid of me than actually doing their job. To add insult to injury, they had the audacity to demand a high tip, as if they had just performed some kind of masterpiece instead of a botched job. As a final touch, they left me covered in tiny hair clippings—on my face, down my neck, inside and outside my clothes—so I could take a piece of their "work" home with me. No attempt was made to brush them off, because why bother when you can just rush to the next victim? If you’re looking for a premium experience in speed butchery, look no further. Otherwise, save yourself the regret.

Zhao I came here for a mens haircut, and it was the best one Ive ever had in the Bay Area. I highly recommend Jessica for her skill and attentiveness to her clients needs. Online appointment booking is also convenient and reliable, and you can expect to receive confirmation from the owner.

Nini Nini Worst salon ever. My Mom was going to Forever beauty to get her haircut. After she came back from the salon her hair looked fine. However my Mother lost so much hair. If you don’t believe me you can check the photos I uploaded. I wish I can put 0 stars. I also hope my Mom can sew the salon. I hate this stupid salon!

Ann Gail Paris I’ve been working with Diana as a fellow wedding vendor and client since 2021 and I plan to support her beauty business as long as I can. I love her wedding makeup services and customized facials! She is extremely professional and knows her stuff. Her salon studio space is so warm and welcoming and I always look forward to treating myself to some self care when I book an appointment with her. Saher Zaidi Best stylist I’ve been to by far !! Prior to coming to Amanda I would visit different salons and research stylists that I could trust with my hair. I reviewed many stylist instagram pages for a brunette balayage. I have dark brown hair and was very interested in doing a multidimensional balayage. I was recommended to go to Amanda by my sister and I’ve been very happy since. During our first consult, I shared my vision on how I wanted my hair to look and what color/tones I was looking for. I was very new to coloring my hair and unfamiliar with most of the terminology, but Amanda was kind enough to explain everything to me and made me feel very comfortable throughout the process. She was also very honest with my color goals and told me how many sessions it typically takes to get the tones I wanted. I sometimes am a bit unsure on what tones I want to do with my hair and bring in a few different examples to show Amanda. She is very talented and knowledgeable!! She knows exactly what to do with my hair even better than I could’ve asked for or envisioned. I trust Amanda with my hair and am comfortable with her doing anything she wants to my hair, because I know it’ll look amazing. She also uses new techniques and high quality products leaving my hair feeling soo good after each appointment. My hair has never felt this healthy even when I had virgin hair! Amanda really educates you on the write products and care tips for all hair types. Whenever I have any questions, she responds very quickly through Instagram. I always leave feeling so confident and happy with my hair and receive so many compliments. Amanda is also just a genuinely wonderful human being. She’s very personable and friendly. I never feel shy or uncomfortable during our 5+ hour appointments. It literally feels like we’ve been friends for years and time hasn’t past with each appointment. Ru Got my cut and color done by Esme. She was soo bad at both of them. Would not recommend this salon. They cant communicate properly and overcharge as well. Cant do a proper blow out either
