1 /5 Britney Antonio: I’ve been to this Vallejo western wear store in Moreno Valley, CA a few times and purchased various items over the months with no issues, until yesterday. My husband and I were looking for new pair of exotic boots (for him). So we shopped around and he tried on various styles. We found one that we absolutely loved and they only had one last pair in his size. The only downside about that pair was that it wasn’t evenly polished and there were some serious dull parts on one of the boots that was noticeable. Everyone knows that having your boots polished and shiny is important. Especially if you’re going to pay $300+ for them. This defect in craftsmanship bothered us so we asked if there was another pair in the same size and unfortunately, it was the last one. I looked online and they were sold out. The young lady helping us said that she talked to her manager and that they offered a 10% discount off the pair of caiman boots for the defect and I could purchase boot shine and shine it myself. I asked if we would also get the free belt since we would still be spending over $400+ and she said yes. We liked these boots so much that we were convinced and decided that we would purchase them. So the young lady helping us took the boots to the checkout register and offered us a free belt. While we were choosing the belt, a different young lady took over the transaction while the other lady left. The new young lady started scanning all items and then proceeded to tell us that she talked to the manager and that we would only be able to use the 10% discount off the boots or the free belt but we could not use both. I felt that this was extremely unfair since the 10% discount was because the boots were defective in craftsmanship and was not another regular deal that I was trying to stack to save money. We still had to buy the boot shine too which was another expense. I always avoid all conflict so I didn’t argue or make a huge deal about it but I know that the cashier saw that my husband was bothered. She still did nothing but insist that we only choose one or the other. We chose the 10% off. My husband left the store while I stayed to pay. After this incident, I don’t think I’ll be visiting or recommending this store anymore. I’m sure there are many other western wear stores wanting loyal customers like myself. Make your customers happy and you’ll have them forever.
