1 /5 Lana Cruz: If I could give this Hot Topic location zero stars, I would! My husband and I were falsely accused of STEALING during our visit, claiming we were recently there and the staff member who approached us “recognized” my husband, and saw him stealing! They claimed to have cameras and so I asked for proof, and they refused to show me, didnt even try resolving the matter. Not any evidence to back up their outrageous claim, and without even trying to resolve the conflict. The staff didn’t even bother to even act professionally—they just outright publicly humiliated us.
This experience was nothing short of traumatizing. We’ve been loyal customers of Hot Topic for years, we’ve recently moved to Concord and Sunvalley mall was a wonderful place to go, but after being treated like criminals, we will NEVER set foot in this store—or any other Hot Topic—again.
What’s worse, the staff seemed to relish the confrontation, as if targeting innocent customers is their idea of entertainment. If you value being treated with respect and dignity, avoid this place at all costs. Clearly, customer service and basic human decency are not priorities here.
Save your time, your money, and your sanity-shop literally ANYWHERE else. Hot Topic has changed, obviously not caring about their customers and losing two lifelong customers in the process, and judging by the behavior at this location, I wouldn’t be surprised if they drive away more.
