We heard about this place from a family member, they loved it so much they set the bar with all their cool stories about the animals they were able to see. From the moment we arrived Lisa exceeded all of our expectations. You can see that her, her husband and the other trainers/staff love and respect all the animals. I can’t put into words how much we enjoyed our visit. We can’t wait to come back with our 2 boys who we know will love it!

5 /5 Kevin Webb: What a wonderful time my wife and I had. I wish the enclosures were bigger in spots but the animals are clearly receiving love and care as well as enrichment and engagement. We got to carry around a young joey almost the entire tour and interact with him and his roo gang. Birds of prey flew to our arms. See otters snacked on our lap. Kookaburras laughed and Captburas nibbled corn from our hand. Our guide was wonderful. A Xmas memory that will stay with us forever.

Uptown Family Park - Paso Robles

Elyse: Such a nice little park! Im so thankful we have a little splash pad right here in Paso! We visited on Sept. 7, (after labor day) and we were happy to see the water was on! This park is always very clean, and Ive never seen is crowded.

Seal Point Park - San Mateo

Fulldistance Going: This really is a great spot to walk yourself or your dog! The huge dog park is well planned and ideal for pets. The trail goes north all the way to Coyote Point and beyond and all the way south along the edge of Foster City and beyond. The hill within the park is interesting with some sculptures and great view of the San Mateo Bridge San Francisco. Nearby is Ryder Park that has tables and BBQ facilities. Restrooms are also available. The Dog Park has water for the pets. There are benches to sit and take in the views.

Laurelwood Park - San Mateo

Ke Z: One of the most beautiful trails ive done in the bay area. It overlooks the entire San Mateo region from the hill top.

Coyote Point Recreation Area - San Mateo

Nusrat Ahmed: We went there on the weekend. Park entry cost is $6 per car and you would definitely love it inside. It has a great harbor view and planes landing on the SFO airport. We walked through the trail. In the other side there is a Eucalyptus tree area. My son was excited seeing all those boats in the pier.

San Mateo Japanese Garden - San Mateo

Danny Huang: We visited on a Saturday afternoon, and this small but elegant Japanese garden inside San Mateo Central Park was the perfect peaceful retreat. The koi pond, small waterfall, stone lanterns, and well-manicured trees give the space a serene, authentic feel — like a little slice of Japan tucked away in the city. There were a few visitors quietly walking around and taking photos. At the entrance, there’s a clear sign that says no food, no drinks, and no dogs are allowed inside the garden. While that might be a bit inconvenient, it helps keep the area clean and tranquil. It’s not a huge place — you can walk through it slowly in about 15–20 minutes — but it’s a lovely spot to relax, reflect, or enjoy some quiet time. Outside the garden, Central Park has more open areas for picnics or dog walks, so you can enjoy both settings in one visit. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and need a moment of calm.

CuriOdyssey - San Mateo

Dominik Muro: I took my 22 month old here on a rainy day and it was seriously so awesome he loved it and I loved watching him love it. We drove from Oakland and it was well worth the drive. There were little stools for him to stand up on so he could see various things and participate in the fun. The little zoo was cute and the playground looked like a lot of fun but was too wet for us. We got a cute raccoon plushie from the gift shop to top off the end to a great visit. Definitely plan on visiting again.

Paddock Park - San Mateo

Gabriela Hernandez: I love Paddock Park. Its a nice small enclosed park for all ages. Great for families with multiple aged children. Small and large play structures, Foam flooring, a sand pit and a large climbing web are also included. A few tables for picnics are available with shade. No reservations required. Bathroom and basketball court are also available on site.

Laurie Meadows Park - San Mateo

Steven Hung: Very nice play structure with some features not common found in other playgrounds. There is a smaller park nearby for kids, walking path, field, and exercise area. Parking is on the street. Downside is there is no bathroom, you have to cross a bridge to another park to find the bathroom. From the bridge you can observe some of the local birds.

Harborview Park - San Mateo

Beth Swanson: Sunday morning is quiet and kids are mostly younger. Bathrooms available to use. Small picnic area. Access to long flat walking trail along Bay. Big sand play area. Play structure for 2 to 5 year olds and then older kids. Baseball field. Basketball court. It’s windy and cool when the Bay is windy. On calm days it’s really lovely.
