4 /5 Craig Campbell: What an interesting place to visit. It was super quiet and tranquil on Sunday morning. It helped that I was the only person there! Many of the plaques by each statue are bleached by the sun, and they really just tell you who is the owner(donor?) of each. Google translate camera did a pretty good job of helping with translating the signs. There is parking inside the gate so you dont have to use the street.

5 /5 Melissa Gibbs: Very beautiful and peaceful. I have lived on the east side of Stockton my entire life and I never noticed this place. Its such beautiful place to walk through. I plan to take my mother and father both who use mobility scooters back. I think they would really enjoy this. It is free to enter and park but please be kind and donate so they may keep this place going for years to come. ♥️

5 /5 Jae Mi Cracolici: Very cool hidden gem. Like literally hidden in a neighborhood. We thought we were going the wrong way until we saw the stunning wall and gates. Lots of beautiful statues and the giant Buddha was really cool to see in-person. There’s a big parking lot, public bathroom, and of course the temple. We saw a monk and a cute cat followed us around. Maybe took a little over 20 minutes to walk around it all, but we stopped a lot to take pictures.

3 /5 Samantha Holdaway: Very small place with lots of Buddhist statues. Theyre all very pretty and kept up nice. Entry is free. It would have been a lot better if they had the placards in english also. So I could learn about each statue and their meaning. The ones that were fountains didnt have water. This is a self guided tour that takes 15-20 minutes. There were no staff when i was there. It was very empty with no other visitors. The place is located in the middle of a home area. The GPS is right. It does take you to the wrong entrance though, just follow the signs that lead you to the right one; its very close from the other. There are public bathrooms. Also has a turtle pond.

David McElhinnie: A potentially beautiful plaza, but the dirty people and the trash kind of hurt the experience of it. A nice selection of restaurants and coffee. Located in a really neat location with the water and being right at the heart of downtown Stockton but could use a bit of a sprucing up.

Keith Daum: Used the boat launch. Senior entry fee is reasonable. Launch docks well maintained. Parking for vehicles without boat trailers could be closer. Bathroom facilities are outside of the launch parking area. And, Id have to be desperate to have to use them.

Micro Phone: Very nice small park. Plenty of shade and two small playgrounds for kids up to 12 years of age. A small area for skateboarding with a rail. Two water fountains on opposite sides of the park. Several dog stations to pickup after your pet. There are times when the skate area is tagged and full of broken glass. It seems to be cleaned up quickly. Its never been crowded when I have visited.

Shumway Oak Grove Regional Park - Stockton

Kat: I love this park. Its $5 on the weekdays $6 on the weekend, and an additional $1 per dog. There are some nice walking trails. They arent too long but its secluded enough that it feels like youre up in the hills. There are a lot of benches, tables for picnics, paddle boat rentals, and geese. Oh my, lots of geese. The goose poop is everywhere so plan to wash your shoes! The old oak trees are awesome. I love taking pics of them in black and white. The large playground area is closed, it would be nice for the kiddies of they would get that up and running.
