  • H & J Tire - Novato
N Haddad: Jared was very friendly, patient, and helpful! I had my alignment previously done at another shop after saving up for new tires. The steering wheel was off just a tad, but enough to make me not comfortable while driving. He talked the issue through with me and was able to fix it!! I’m so relieved now. Thank you so much for the wonderful customer service! I’m more than certain I appeared a little crazy, because after a tech test drove it, they said it was fine. It was such a minor issue, most probably wouldn’t have noticed. I really value the great customer service, something that seems hard to find these days.
Able Tire & Brake - Novato
IYM RETURN SOLUTIONS: I have had the pleasure of working with Able Tire and Brake since 2022 when I first me their GM Jayme. I had a 2010 Subaru Legacy that had been well-maintained by a close friend for many years. When I purchased the car, I had it thoroughly checked out at the dealership where it had always been serviced since the prior owner purchased it. At the time, they had advised that the tires and wheels were in good shape. About a year later, we were driving one Sunday and noticed a strong vibration in the steering wheel. Northgate Automotive, where we service the car, suggested contacting Jayme over at Able Tire & Break, and Im so glad that I did because it was the beginning of a GREAT RELATIONSHIP SO FAR. They examined the car and advised that I needed new tires. Whoa, a RED FLAG went up as I had been informed earlier that year that the tires were fine. I asked to speak with the GM, Jayme, and he came over with a big smile and in a "VERY KIND" voice and politely asked (which is not often the case today as, Please and Thank You are frequently forgotten in business today), "How can I help you?" My reply was probably nowhere near as kind, not rude, but most likely Excited and Flustered. I asked, "Your advisor has informed me that I need four new tires, but just a few months ago, the dealership indicated that the tread depth is sufficient. Why do I need four new tires?" His reply was calm and made perfect sense. "You have a large blister on the inside of your back inner tire, causing the vibration, and youre lucky it didnt blow out on the freeway coming over here. Additionally, the tires are more than 5 years old and have large cracks, making them unsafe to drive on. Im a big advocate for "Trust but Verify," so I asked him to show me, and thats precisely what he did. Everything he told me was 100% correct, and my concern for being taken for a ride was no longer. My great experiences dont end there, but Ill keep them brief and let the results speak for themselves. On our second car, I also needed new tires, but this was due to wear and tear. It was discovered that two of the rims were bent. So Jayme got me a price for two new rims. When it came to ordering them, the vendor advised that they had made an error in the cost and couldnt honor the quoted price. Jayme suggested, Dont worry about it; Ill find you another pair at that price or as close to it as I can. Which is precisely what he did. When the pair arrived, they were not in the best condition, and he transformed them into as good as new. I just purchased two more rims from him that came in excellent condition. This time, I asked for pictures first, as they were already used. So if you want to know where to go for Tires and Brakes in Marin, Jayme over at Able Tire and Brake is the place to go, and you dont even need an appointment. They are located just across from the Chevrolet dealership in Novato on Redwood Highway. Thank you, Jayme. My wife and I appreciate what you have done for us and will continue to do for us as long as youre working there.
    Novato Radiator - Novato
Rob Schmidt: Keith was knowledgeable and professional. He rebuilt my radiator with quality American parts for less than a cheap aftermarket, foreign replacement. His job re-coring my radiator was top notch and he provided excellent advice on other issues at no cost. Plus, hes a nice guy. Highly recommended for work on classic vehicles.

Rafael Auto Paint - Auto Body Repair, Professional Car Painting in Novato, CA - Novato
Edith Cheng: I got a big scratch on my Audi SQ5 from the front panel, across both doors, all the way to the back panel. Rafael and his team did an amazing job fixing the scratches and dents. Now, it looks like nothing ever happened. Im more than satisfied with their work, and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommend!
    Marin Hybrid Shop - Novato
Lesli Fullerton-pacis: My husband and I have had all of our car care here for years now. Petra is wonderful. Very honest and they kept our last cars going strong at 11 years.
    Fernandos Auto Body - Novato
Jose Aguilar: Fernando, of Fernando’s Auto Body, helped my wife and me enormously, just by being himself. When our little Honda became unsafe because of broken clips and body parts below the front bumper, Fernando realized how much we and our dog depend on that little car because after we sent an email on Sunday, he came to our home Monday to assess the problem. He took the car to his shop to remove the broken parts, rendering it safe for the time being, ordered new parts and returned our car to us. The following day, he again took the car, and completed the repair. He returned it to our home, safe to drive, leaving my wife issuing sighs of relief. We highly recommend Fernando. He does good work, and is an ethical, reliable human being.
    Daves Auto Repair - Petaluma
Patrick Hanson: I had a heater hose explode and they repaired everything. However later a non related part started leaking coolant from above the thermostat so I replaced that part and found that the mechanic had used some crappy sealer instead of a proper o ring gasket. I ended up fixing that part myself. But that’s what you get from them. They won’t say hey man I couldn’t get this part on right so I glued it. Yeah
Novato Toyota Service & Parts - Novato
Blair Boudousquie: I want to express my huge gratitude and appreciation to the team at the Novato Toyota Service department for going above and beyond to get us back on the road. Especially Bob Carpenter and Bing. My partner and I were stranded Saturday evening in Mill Valley when our 2001 Toyota Sequoia wouldn’t start. We live n the foothills, and work weekends on the Bay, so we had to camp out until Monday morning. We assumed it was the starter, and because it is located under the intake manifold in the 2UZFE V8, I knew it would be a big job. I wanted a genuine Toyota starter so that I could go another 23 years before needing to replace it, rather than every 2 years of I went to another shop. The plan was to tow it to Marin Toyota, as it was the closest. I was nervous if they would have space in their schedule when I showed up first thing Monday morning. I spoke to a friend in Novato and she insisted I go the extra distance to Novato Toyota, as her sister had a great experience with their service department. I relented, as it would cost me an extra $160 in towing fees. After reading some reviews, I made the decision, which was confirmed by our tow truck driver who said people he tows have had much better experience at Novato versus Marin. As we drove past Marin I could see that it was already a Zoo, at 7 am, and I imagined my we would have been waiting hours before even speaking to anyone. As soon as we pulled in to Novato Toyota, Bob came out to greet us, like a ray of sunshine, assuring me they would take good care of us and get us back on the road as soon as possible. I felt hopeful. They were quickly able to do the initial diagnosis, confirming that it would need a new starter, as I expected, and they found one in San Ramone. He assured me that they would get to work as soon as it arrived later that afternoon. They gave us a complimentary ride to our friends house in Novato. The quote was $1600 for labor, which I expected, because it is a big job for this particular engine. Later that day I got a call from Bing, and he informed me that upon further electrical testing they discovered that the relay wasn’t getting juice. This meant that the starter wasn’t actually the issue! He did some detective work and found some strange wires hanging from the drivers footwell. He discovered some kind of alarm system that had been kicked, disconnecting the wires that fed the starter relay. He even sent me pictures of what he discovered. He said they would figure it out and put it back together, and have it ready for me to pick up first thing in the morning. They were working after hours at this point. The best part is that the new total went from around $1800 to less than $500! I picked it up Tuesday morning, and we were back on the road. I generally have a mistrust of dealership service departments, but I will not hesitate to take my beloved Sequoia to Novato Toyota for any future needs.
