The Queen Mary - Long Beach (CA)

4 /5 Diana Mitchell: The Queen Mary is truly BEAUTIFUL, a unique part of history worth exploring for hours. The staff were all extremely helpful & kind. But. Just visit one afternoon, for 3-5 hrs. I cant recommend it as a hotel because the mattresses & pillows were awful, and very little opens up on the ship till 10am (engine room museum) or 11am (tours) which for me defeated the purpose of staying onboard overnight as a guest. I didnt expect 24/7 access, but everything on the ship felt VERY inaccessible with truncated hrs. We had a lovely breakfast but then had to kill *hours* on Wed in order to see the exhibits after our overnight stay, which then further delayed our visit to the aquarium. Even Tues nights band was packing up by just after 8pm. I was very much looking forward to getting my kids to bed, letting my husband stay with them, and then sneaking down to listen and have 1 drink and sit for a little bit, maybe even having time for my husband to sneak down later while I stayed with the kids. Nope. Everything closed too early or opened way too late, that was the overall feel. Not cruise ship or hotel like at all. The beds & pillows honestly were the least comfortable of any hotel or cruise ship Ive ever been on (I have lots of comparative stays to draw from). I was looking forward to this stay and while many things were lovely, they all felt "almost good". I will recommend that people see the Queen Mary, but staying as a guest was a mixed bag of weirdly scheduled inconveniences and beautiful history.

5 /5 Daisey M.: Prepare to step back in time and enjoy....My whole family emensly enjoyed ourselves. Next time, I will plan an overnight stay. The weather was great, very easy to access, and staff is incredibly helpful and pleasant. Haunted tour guide ...he was He was spontaneous, knowledgeable, and entertaining. Thanks for awesome memories made :)

5 /5 Randy Sessions: Beautiful ship, restored well, kept in amazing shape. Nice stores, good coffee shop with good food. We didnt stay in the hotel or eat at the restaurant, so I cant say anything about either. The ghost tour was fun. The guide did a great job!

4 /5 Morgan J: Stayed 1 night in twin bed suite and am not sure how anybody can sleep longer than 1 night or dine for brunch in the Promenade cafe any time other than during winter. Within 2 minutes of sitting down and ordering water, I found I was already pouring sweat with it only being 70 degrees outside due to no A/C in the cafe. I had to forfeit my brunch and leave, it was so uncomfortable. The poor waitress was also pouring sweat, I could tell. Also, the front desk offers complimentary tower fans if requested and if I hadn’t had that, I wouldn’t be able to sleep a wink. Everything else about my stay was fabulous and understand with it being an old ship, I get that it can’t be outfitted with all air conditioned spaces… but holy crap, where I sleep and where I eat should be comfortable at a bare minimum. Overall came to the ship for paranormal investigating and boy, did the ship deliver! The tour guide for the graveyard tour was thorough and knowledgeable and was worth every penny. Also got to wander the ship afterwards and captured plenty of evidence with my own equipment to convince me that this ship really is haunted. I love this ship and will continue to visit, hopefully for many years to come!

5 /5 Anthony Santoya: The Queen Mary was well worth the cost of staying here. You can explore the ship, eat, and drink here. Rooms are comfortable, but keep in mind they are staterooms from a cruise line ship that retired in the 60s. So they are not spacious or super modern. They are the exact opposite, despite that theyre gorgeous rooms and will suit most peoples taste and is chock full of charm. Its apparently haunted. This adds a thrill element to staying here. We were fortunate enough to receive a room on B Deck. The staff here are excellent. We truly felt welcomed. Seriously, every staff member we came across offered their assistance. Happy Hour at the Observation Bar was phenomenal. Food at the Promenade Cafe. Delicious. This is a luxury experience of a different type. I will most definitely returning for another stay.
