El Dorado Nature Center - Long Beach (CA)

5 /5 Mohammad Ashori: Beautiful and calming space. Wonderful to see wildlife. Everyone quite friendly and taking care to keep the space cozy for others. Parking is around 6 dollars but 8 on weekends. A few comfortable benches to sit on but no picnicking allowed.

3 /5 Nathan Harris: Really peaceful. Lots of shade. Not a lot of wildlife but a few ducks in the lake. I found a turtle shell and really vibrant mushrooms. The mushrooms are called false turkey tail and are bright orange. Half of the reserve and trails were closed off for no apparent reason. I noticed some litter that looked like it had been there for a while. I heard birds of prey and lots of nature sounds.

5 /5 Gina Kegel: This place is magical. I cant tell you how many times I said, "Wow!" Parking is kind of expensive, but if this is the experience it supports, its fine. We brought lunch to eat there. Theres no food allowed inside, which makes sense, but at the end of the parking lot is a large lawn and shaded picnic tables. It was the perfect place to enjoy our food and then head in. The restroom building is also there. There are no restrooms inside! Go with enough time to slow down, enjoy the views, breathe in the air, and unwind. This place is a gem.
