1 /5 Rena O.: My car was brought to this shop for repairs by my former business partner. Instead of being repaired, it was illegally sold to one of the shop’s employees, Carlos.
It took me months to locate my vehicle. When I contacted the shop in late March, the owner admitted that my ex-partner had sold the car to their employee, Carlos, despite the fact that the vehicle is still under a bank loan and no legal title transfer was possible.
The owner gave Carlos my number so we could resolve the situation. I clearly explained to Carlos multiple times that the car is legally registered to me and that he was sold a vehicle illegally. I offered to meet in person and show all necessary documents, but I wasn’t willing to send sensitive information over text. Even when I finally saw Carlos in person, he failed to look at or care about validating the registration.
If Carlos believed the sale was legal, he should have been able to go to the DMV for proper paperwork — yet he resisted letting me see the car and avoided giving clear answers.
We arranged to meet at the shop on May 1st. When I arrived, the situation became even more confusing. The owner gave conflicting information and kept telling me to call my ex-business partner. I told them multiple times that he doesnt answer my calls and stole all my cars. Considering the fact that my ex-business partner’s car was parked right outside their establishment, I dont understand why the owner couldn’t call Eric himself to resolve an issue that clearly involves his shop and employee.
The owner decided to kick me out mid-dispute, and suddenly Carlos appeared as I was walking out, saying he was the employee who bought the car. Thanks for waiting until the last minute to say something. He kept speaking about the car as if it were legally his and even implied that I had agreed to give him my car. I am making active car payments — why would I give a stranger my car?
To be clear:
The car was left for repair, not to be sold.
The owner allowed the sale to proceed without verifying ownership or legal title.
Despite my repeated explanations and police reports, they continue to avoid accountability.
I am demanding that this shop and its employees stop working on any of my stolen vehicles and return all of my property immediately. I will pursue further legal action if necessary.
