5 /5 Helen Medina: Went here for 510 day it was a beautiful day. There were so many vendors people and food. I had an awesome time. This was my first real experience in Oakland and it was fun. Parking was a pain but other than that it was a great time.

5 /5 Jackspace: One of the first places to revive outdoor dancing post-pandemic, this place was, and still is a fixture in the community as far as a vibrant, fun, beautiful, and social hub along Lake Merritt. When its warm out, there are often dance/music events held. Often these have a few food trucks/tables/wagons vending as well. GREAT place to watch the sun set! Best bet is to park anywhere along Lakeshore Avenue and walk there along the lake path. Its also super close to the Grand Lake Theater area which has a lot of awesome restaurants, bars, wine, boutiques.

5 /5 Tierra Wilson: BEAUTIFUL. I went on a Saturday and visited after exploring the Farmers Market a few steps away. It was a great walk, tons of grass, lots of HUGE geese that were fun to watch, and even on a foggy day it oozed mystery and fun. If you love people watching its a great spot to relax and just observe. I def recommend going on a Saturday, stopping by Peets Coffee, then hit the markets up followed by a walk on the lake.

esteban canseco: This regional park is amazing, covered with redwoods. It has nice trails and best of all is dog-friendly. If you are near Oakland take visit to this park it will be worth it.

Middle Harbor Shoreline Park - Oakland

Sneha H S: Deserted yet beautiful! A stroll or run by the water, with views of San Francisco on one side and the shipping yard on the other. Soothing sounds of water all along. The occasional ships and boats of all sizes are nice to watch. Historical information displayed at multiple places is fascinating. Plenty of parking, picnic areas, and restrooms.

Knowland Park - Oakland

Dom Singavarapu: This place is a great getaway with family and kids. The place itself is on a very high altitide and the view of the bay is breath-taking. I would def advice and recommend this place. Especially when the weather is great, you will have an amazing time.

Joaquin Miller Park - Oakland

Vishruth Rao: This park is close to my home, and I often go there for a trail walk on the weekends. I was pleasantly surprised by a few viewpoints where you can see the skylines of both Auckland and San Francisco; it was very enjoyable. You can easily spend a couple of hours there, have lunch in the park, and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can hike up the hill to the space center, which is called the Job Space Center. It’s a fun park where you can spend an entire day. There are numerous trails to explore, making it a great place for families, friends, or even dogs.

Grace Lin: A charming little picnic spot with a scenic lake you can walk around. The loop takes less than 40 minutes, and you’ll spot plenty of people fishing along the way!

Simon Potter: A great visit to this interesting aviation museum. Lots of static aircraft to see plus interesting displays of related artefacts. Great for adults and kids alike.

Snow Park - Oakland

Neal: Decent park with grassy area, benches, playground, and all gender restroom. There were some homeless people camping in tents when I went and the grass looked like it could use some maintenance. The restroom isnt anybodys idea of clean, but it was functional. The grass is a great place to sit on a warm day.

Union Point Park - Oakland

Franziska Marks: This is so sad - a place that was designed with so much creativity and thoughtfulness is now drowning in trash. I didnt feel safe walking here during the day with a big dog. Avoid until Oakland has the budget again to care for its properties and house folks that now live here in tents.

Chappell Hayes Observation Tower - Oakland

P.J. Palmer: Beautiful views but there is only handicap parking available, no other parking. Thousands of geese are fun to see but their dropping are EVERYWHERE so you have to be very careful wherever you step. Amazing views of the bay
