4 /5 Sneha H S: Deserted yet beautiful! A stroll or run by the water, with views of San Francisco on one side and the shipping yard on the other. Soothing sounds of water all along. The occasional ships and boats of all sizes are nice to watch. Historical information displayed at multiple places is fascinating. Plenty of parking, picnic areas, and restrooms.

5 /5 Morgan Christine (IWonderland): Its lovely to stroll along the bay with a view of the SF skyline & Bay Bridge. Hardly anyone there late morning/ early afternoon. Lots of geese & gosslings as well as ground squirrels everywhere. Nice little pier with a couple of people fishing. Has a picnic area, restrooms & plenty of parking. A bit of a hidden gem!

5 /5 Daniel Coronado: I never even knew that this was here, but Im glad that I looked around the area where I was at and found it! There wasnt very many people using the park, but I was able to walk around quite a bit and explore. I also told my girlfriend about this place and will make sure to bring her by the next time shes in town.

Snow Park - Oakland

Neal: Decent park with grassy area, benches, playground, and all gender restroom. There were some homeless people camping in tents when I went and the grass looked like it could use some maintenance. The restroom isnt anybodys idea of clean, but it was functional. The grass is a great place to sit on a warm day.

Franziska Marks: This is so sad - a place that was designed with so much creativity and thoughtfulness is now drowning in trash. I didnt feel safe walking here during the day with a big dog. Avoid until Oakland has the budget again to care for its properties and house folks that now live here in tents.

Chappell Hayes Observation Tower - Oakland

P.J. Palmer: Beautiful views but there is only handicap parking available, no other parking. Thousands of geese are fun to see but their dropping are EVERYWHERE so you have to be very careful wherever you step. Amazing views of the bay

Pardee Home Museum - Oakland

Pamela L: The Pardee Home Museum (Italianate architecture) was built by the Pardee family. Three generations lived lived there from 1868 to 1981. The last survivor put the home in a trust that is run by a Board of Trustees. Its self-supporting and run by volunteers. The father (made money in the mines, was an eye doctor and a California State Senator) and his son was Governor of California who made the poppy flower CAs state flower; reformed prisons; and established the EBMUD. All furnishings and collections are original and left intact. The tour is about 1.5 hours. Tour was educational and interesting - it covers the entire residence of 3 floors. The tour guide was nice and knowledgeable. She kept the tour intense so you wanted to know more. She gave insights and tibits of the family. All questions were answered. The afternoon tea is delightful. The food is prepared from scratch with lots of love from the volunteers. They were friendly, personable and thoughtful. Since it was the day before Easter, they put some Easter bunny theme to the tea. Just lovely people who made a delcious three course of food assortment. I definitely recommend the tour to learn about Oakland history and to visit one of the last standing historical mansions. Tea was authentic - no crust on the bread :)
