5 /5 Sam: I met this gentleman of a mechanic by coincidence, I was trying to change my brake pads. I own the AutoZone lifetime brake pads exchange warranty and every time I changed my brake pads, I changed both front and rear at the same time.
Upon visiting this mechanic for the first time, I found out that for the past 9 years I was being fooled by other mechanics who never informed me that my rear brake pads need not to be changed and they were good. On the other hand, this honest mechanic had told me and insisted that my rear brake pads were at about 70% thickness and didn’t need to be changed, he had also explained to me that rear brake pads in general wear out twice as less than the front brake pads, and in most cases they need to be changed at least about every other time the front ones get changed, or else he would be scamming me for my hard earned money. Such an information I would not have known if I didn’t go to his shop by coincidence.
Bottom line, I had never met a mechanic that was as honest as this old gentleman was with me. I told him even though he was 20 miles away from where I live that he will be my go for mechanic moving forward.
