1 /5 A F: I was really excited when Chabelita reached out after calling all of Napa in hopes of finding a salon that offered permanent straightening… she reached out and we spoke about my expectations and her ability to help me reach my goal. We discussed my hair and its current natural state which was thin and very curly. She told me she could attain that goal and even took me after hours, which I was ecstatic about.
She proceeded to give me a Brazilian blow out . She never told me she would be giving me a Brazilian blow out as I have friends in the hair industry that I had previously refused as this was not what I was looking for. I felt absolutely robbed. I overpaid for something that could easily cost a fraction of what I paid her. The disappointment was seriously enough to make me not want to trust anyone again. Everyone, all of my friends who knew what the outcome of my hair would be were just baffled by the same curly hair I wore in the following day. I was not looking for a Brazilian blow out I was expecting permanent hair straightening (at least until my natural hair grew out) but was met with disappointment and a bill for something I did not want. All in all, she could have been honest with me and told me it was something she recommended while not being what I wanted. Really hurt my feelings and it’s not easy for me to come to terms with the fact that I paid over 400 for something that easily costs 150. Thank you, and I hope she needed that more than I did.
