Shakespeare Garden - San Francisco (CA)

5 /5 Kay Bee: This is a great little garden that doesn’t get a lot of foot traffic. It’s usually empty and great place to get away from the crowds. It’s near a lot of the main attractions on this side of the park - Botanical Garden, Japanese Tea Garden, Music Concourse, de Young and Academy of Science. It is a great spot if you want kids to toddle around in a semi-enclosed area. You can book for private events for a fee. A friend even went for a wedding ceremony here. For those fond of Shakespeare, you can find a lot of the plants mentioned in his works in this garden.

5 /5 MoonRule: I love this little garden. Its fenced off and its like a private space. Its very quiet and I feel like I was in a movie. However, the benches were in the bushes and the good ones were already taken. Wish they could clean up some so we dont have to sit in literal bushes covered in spiderweb.

4 /5 Dans Inferno: Small English garden with a bust and several quotes by ol Bill. Pretty entrance through an ornamental gate into a tree-lined walk to the other end. Big enough space to have a tea party on the grass. Some benches for the bawdy lasses and their suitors to seek inspiration in their respective ... eyes or something.

5 /5 B Matt: An absolute hidden gem in Golden Gate park. While not too far away from the De Young, this garden was empty when I visited. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by to take in the trees, the prose, and the peace.

5 /5 hima a: Nice garden. It was wonderful. Saw a couple stop by and took pictures near the dome area. There were artists singing. Very pleasant ambience. Very beautiful trees and fountains. There were also benches to sit on near by and also a few food trucks selling food. Purchased coffee there for $3 and I saw then selling some odnian food too. Very pleasant.
