1 /5 LaTrece Johnson: Waste of time and money. Rude and unprofessional when the client is not satisfied with careless effort.
I was referred to Dencia by a friend who went to her. My friend had a good experience and after reading the reviews on Yelp, I felt that it was worth a shot. She arrived 15 min late to our first appointment, which I was understanding of. The conversation was unprofessional at times. She took a personal phone call. Checked her social media a few times. So appointment ended up being 3.5 hours. I texted her when I got home as there were obvious gaps on hair on my part. We spoke the following day and she agreed that more hair needed to be added. I sent her photos and video of what I wanted the part to look like for when she would correct it. We agreed to meet at 7a before her 9a client the following day (I needed this fixed asap). Morning of the appointment, she overslept causing her to be an hour late. I asked her again if she can do the part how I sent to her and she said yes. But when she corrected my hair, she did not make the part looked how I asked and it looked worse and sloppy. She proceeded to tell me "this is how the part was supposed to be and couldnt be done the way that I wanted" (which is not true). I was extremely frustrated and disappointed. She offered to correct again but meant I had to come back and by more hair.
It was not worth the additional time for both her and I for me to come back after the lack of punctuality and thoroughness on both visits. We agreed to a partial refund. After that, she didnt return my text message on when I can expect the funds, blocked my personal cell number, and hung up on me when I called from my work line.
I gave 1 start because the initial look was what I wanted, but the lines and parts in my hair were done carelessly. I finally went to another salon to have it done correctly and the women were felt bad and shocked when they seen pictures of what was done.
Not sure why my experience was so horrible, but it definitely was a huge disappointment.
