5 /5 Cassady Gwinn- Soberanes: What an incredible experience at a zoo! My friend and I were in town for a weekend trip and had the time of our lives, walking around the zoo. We spent most of the day here and had a blast! The interactive exhibits were phenomenal and so much fun for adult adults as well as the kids that were participating. The zookeepers were always encouraging us to ask questions and interact with the animals and so knowledgeable that it just made the whole experience that much more fun. Definitely get your tickets ahead of time there’s a discount if you buy them online versus at the gate.

4 /5 Cathleen Gonzalez: Buy your tickets online and save $7. It is $35 at the door which is a little steep for the size. It is a small zoo with few but a nice variety of animals. You can see everything within 2 hours if youd like. It does have nice areas to relax in the shade and you can bring your own food and drinks in. Everything is clean and bathrooms are decent. The enclosures are clean, well kept and seem to be enriching for the animals. The animals seemed relaxed/happy. Animals were pretty visible and it is cool how close you can get to most of them. Staff is knowledgeable. It is also across the street from a park and a 10 minute walk to the beach.

5 /5 Sonia Pop: Beautiful little zoo near the ocean in Santa Barbara is definitely a must see. The atmosphere was peaceful with beautiful flowers and trees everywhere. The animals were well cared for in their home. I definitely recommend this outing. My family took me to the zoo for my 60th birthday celebration and we did an animal encounter. Our animal encounter leader Leila, and Alina who was in charge of the specific encounter we did, were both amazing! Leila went above and beyond giving us VIP treatment which made the day extra special. Very quaint hometown atmosphere made us all feel welcome.

Nawal Mustafa: Very pretty! The vibe is really nice. They also have a parking space in the pier that’s free for the first hour which is wonderful for people who want a short visit and I think it’s good enough time to see everything!

Charles Festejo: A great place to take your family to visit if youre in the area. Very nice displays and everything is well within a good walking distance. We enjoyed the butterflies and dinosaur displays. Parking is free and so is for active duty military (including reservists and National Guard). Friendly staff. Clean Museum. The mission is also close by.

Elena Yee: So many people including locals don’t know about this lovely spot for which you can get the best view of the harbor and mountains. It’s free and it’s on the fourth floor. When the elevator opens, there’s beautiful ocean themed tiles in the floor and walls with all kinds of information. There’s also a staff person who is there to answer Ny questions. The best part is to go out onto the balcony with comfy seating and look at the beauty of Santa Barbara.

Jessica Catalan: It felt small, but the kids got so into the experience, we spent an hour and a half there! They have touch pools and specimen collection on the bottom floor, the kids literally pulled up buckets of "sea pork" and other sea life to study under microscopes! The top floor had tanks, and a room where they could simulate swimming under water. And of course, the kinetic sand was a huge hit! I enjoyed the views from the top floor and the staff that clearly love what they do there. We will be back!

It was not bad though If you are just tried of the familiar environment, and want get-away in not a far distance. 1000 Steps Beach in Santa Barbara is a secluded and picturesque spot perfect for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty. Despite its name, the beach is accessed via a steep staircase with fewer than a thousand steps, but the descent adds to its charm and sense of adventure. The beach itself is a serene stretch of sand, bordered by dramatic cliffs and the soothing sound of crashing waves. It’s ideal for relaxing, beachcombing, or catching a quiet sunset. Low tide reveals tide pools teeming with marine life, making it a favorite for nature lovers. Keep in mind, amenities are minimal, and the steep climb back up requires some effort. However, the peaceful atmosphere and stunning scenery make it well worth the trip for those who appreciate a more private coastal experience.
