5 /5 Cate Puzo: Rose City is my dental group, which I selected in part because it has a TMJ specialist in its practice. After 2 months of lower jaw pain, I saw Dr. Nash, the specialist, who examined my jaw and mouth, including the bite guards I wear nightly for TMJ, and diagnosed a muscle strain of sorts. I was relieved that it wasnt joint or bone. I agreed to an injection into the jaw muscles causing my pain and even after the local anesthesia wore off a couple hours later, I was pain-free. No ache, no limitation in jaw movement, nothing. And after a month, I only have infrequent and momentary aches. The procedure is not covered by insurance, and I may need another in the future, but I am grateful to Dr. Nash for ridding me of this nagging pain with such a simple and quick treatment.
