    Robin Hosford: I was ran off the road by a careless driver. Once my wheel and tire (under warranty) were replaced elsewhere, I was advised about mechanical issues that could impact my new tires warranties. I was aware that my drivers side axel was broken, so I searched for a reputable repair shop close to home. Mid City Complete Auto had the best reviews overall within a 5 mile radius of my home. I called, received an amazing quote (1/2 to 1/4 less than everyone else I called) and then immediately brought my vehicle in on a Saturday morning. They confirmed that the price was the same as they quoted. Because my air conditioner stopped cooling a few hours before the person tried to run me off the road and the axel was reasonably priced, I had them look at it. It was once again a lot cheaper than I had anticipated to recharge my air conditioner. My car is now super frosty! I suspected there was an additional issue other than the axel because of how much my steering wheel was drifting without actually effecting my wheels. They diagnosed that my lower arm control had been bent. They offered a reasonable quote to fix it. My car was in and out in less than three hours. I am so grateful for their help getting my car up and running again. Shes running like a champ and it is great to be fully mobile again.

    Phil M: DO NOT GO HERE! I was scammed by this business. I brought my car in after getting a bunch of lights on my dash. I was told a need a new ABS module by the employee David, and it would cost around $900 and they would install a used one. And I would have my car back within the week. Fast forward to probably two weeks later I was told that the used one wasn’t going to work that I had to get a new one and it would cost around $2000. I agreed because I just wanted to get my car back as soon as possible. This is when the absolute nightmare started. A week went by and I decided to call, it was impossible to get a hold of them and when I did I was given an excuse or I was given the run around and told by David that he would get back to me (he never would). This went on for about 4 months until I was tired of them having my car and lying to me and my patience wore out. I went to the shop because they would never answer my phone number, and I requested just to get my car back and to get a refund of the $900 I already paid. I was told by David some lie that he was unable to do refunds on the system and he needed his boss to do it and to come back next Saturday. I was frustrated but I agreed. When I came the next Saturday at the time I was told to David told me the boss was not there and I had to wait until he arrived. I waited for about two hours and the they started to close up the shop, David came up to me and told me his boss could not come today and I would have to come back next Saturday. This is already the worst experience I have ever had with any business in my life and I just want it to be over so I agreed again. On the next Saturday I get there David and his boss are in the office together and tell me they’ll refund me $300 dollars and they’ll keep $600. I’m not happy they’ve had my car for over 4 months at this point and they’re giving it back to me in the same or even worse shape than it was before because I don’t know what they did to it and they want me to pay $600 dollars for it. I said this was not acceptable to me and if I had to pay $600 why don’t they just fix it. After arguing forever about it we agreed that they would just fix it. Finally on August 1 I was informed it was done, but it had to be towed to a dealership and they had to program it themselves. All in all what I was initially told would cost $900 and take a couple days, ended up costing well over $2000 and worsts all took 5 months. If you know what’s best for you go anywhere else. Do not do business with them.

Also his price was the best out of 4 ppl. I totally recommend I’ll be telling all of my friends and family. I see why it was busy when I got there at 9 am.

    justinoff1: Last year ny car started to overheat on the 10 so I limped off Normandy and found the closest garage which happened to be LA&J. These guys are everything you want in an independent mechanic shop. Fair , honest and hard working. Im currently having them replace my lower control arms (I supplied) as I write this. I live about 15 miles away but they were so fair when I overheated I wanted to work with them again. Its places like this that deserve the business over a large chain. The disgruntled reviews here are from people who think blinker fluid is a thing and dont understand how automotive repair pricing works..

    Heather Freed: I just moved to Highland Park a couple months ago and was so daunted by finding a new mechanic. I came here because it’s walking distance to my place but wow, I’m so relieved. I got my power steering done which I’m not so sure about the average pricing, but I asked about fixing my AC compressor and it ended up being a bit cheaper then my old, long time mechanic quoted me. The owner is so nice and I’m so grateful to have found a good place. I highly recommend

    Vika Dmitriyeva: This is honestly the only place I trust with my life, I mean my car. Everything was seamless from the moment a tree fell on my car, (funny now, not when it happened) taking out the entire back of it, including wiper and all when the storms started. Arthur (the owner) is the most professional and pleasant person to communicate with. He went above and beyond to make my Porsche SUV look literally brand new. They do an incredible job and really make sure to take care of their customers. He even fixed a few other small things I needed, I felt very grateful and pleasantly surprised. Very timely and amazing service. 10/10! Thank you very much!

    Kaci Shires: I had a great experience at J&E. The dealership quoted almost 1k for fixing something on my car so I started looking around and came across J&E. They had good reviews so I emailed and got a response back from Emad super quick with a quote almost half of that and was able to bring it in a few days later. They were quick and it ended up being a little cheaper than the initial quote I was given which is always nice lol. Emad was very nice and even recommended a place in the area to fix my recently cracked windshield. Would definitely recommend and come back!
