Magical Bridge Playground is truly one of the standout play areas in the area! Parents can relax in the shaded section equipped with benches and tables while their children explore the diverse range of attractions, including roller slides, steep slides, regular slides, and various spinning contraptions and swings.
The park also offers amenities like artificial grass and cardboard pieces for sliding.
Adjacent to the playground is a library, providing convenient access to bathrooms and a quiet spot for reading or decompressing. Ample parking makes it easy to access, and the parks spacious layout includes volleyball courts, a dedicated childrens area, and plenty of open grassy spaces for picnics.
During our visit, we encountered a vibrant mix of park-goers, from moms pushing strollers to high schoolers enjoying volleyball, and even dog walkers. Observing the diverse tapestry of life in the park was quite fascinating, highlighting the beauty of nature and community.
Given the excellent weather and the parks natural charm, were already planning our next visit. Its a wonderful place to celebrate the outdoors and everything nature has to offer.
Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University - Stanford C G: This museum is free, easy to navigate, and fun for kids. The collection is diverse—everything from ancient artifacts to contemporary pieces—so there’s always something interesting to see. The building itself is beautiful, elegant, spacious, and clean, and staff (volunteers) are quite helpful and friendly.
The outdoor sculpture garden is a highlight, especially for kids who need to move around after looking at art indoors. It’s a great balance of culture and fresh air. You could easily spend a whole day here, and since admission costs nothing, the only expense is parking and coffee, - if you visit the small cafe.
Great place for a laid-back visit, whether you’re into art or just looking for something different to do.
Greer Park - Palo Alto Peti Hulie: Picnic tables way in the back open space to run kids play ground and soccer field. Nice windy area to cool off.
Stanford Mausoleum - Anna Kachris: The mausoleum is so beautiful. Of course it’s closed and you can’t enter but it’s still worth it to walk all the way over there.
It’s located in the middle of a forest/garden. I think is fascinating how a place can be calm, beautiful and creepy at the same time.
Stanford Dish - Stanford Vignesh M: Nice place to go for a hike. It does get a bit boring as its just a big loop / circle. But it has a quite a bit of wildlife ranging from squirrels to woodpeckers to coyotes at times.
Redwood Grove Nature Preserve - Los Altos Bunny: The road was beautiful, having such a dense area of greenery right next to the city is really amazing, I would love to go here again, we saw wild life on our way, and a few huge trees, a mist visit.
But it is really easy to get lost in the beauty, don’t miss the hole in the wall beach right next to this, it’s the most beautiful beach i have seen so far.
Fremont Park - Menlo Park Maddie Cain: Small park but very nice and peaceful !!!! I love it. If you want to chat with friends it’s cool and i love when they have concerts!
Shoup Park - Los Altos D Atch: This park offers something for everyone. 2 playground areas for small and larger children. A lovely loop walking path and a connection to the Redwoods and a boardwalk to walk on. This is one of my Mom’s favorite spots, which we take her often. If you like nature and have children too, there is so much to do in the hidden gem in the neighborhood.
Mariposa Park - Mountain View Alexis Rae MacGregor: I’m not sure why I have not posted a review about this park. We’ve been coming to this park for almost 8 years.
There’s ample shade from the trees and the play structures are great. There are two play structures- one for 2-5 and the other for older children. There is a small sand area to play in. You can see your child from any angle from within the park.
There are no bathrooms at this park, since it’s a small neighborhood park.
