I grew up braiding hair..and will do mines..but since coming here almost 3 years ago...I do not braid my own anymore (takes 12 hours), they are so friendly, welcoming, very fast. Everyone is fantastic at braiding and Sarah the owner is just great to talk to. Love this braiding shop and the variety of hair that is offered that I could not find elsewhere

The owner and all of the braiders are peaceable and communicative and do their best to ensure you have the best experience and feel accommodated. Im very tender- headed and dread getting my hair braided, but Anne is a patient and gentle braider. Ida and Marie braided my daughters hair. Ida was so attentive to layering my daughters leave out to her desired length. No matter what stylist/braider you go to, you will be pleased with their work. The braiders at Obanke Braid shop truly have gifted hands. Me and my daughter love our hair!!

Nicole Spa & Salon - Richmond Clyburn King: Danielle was a good loctitian. But she’s super unprofessional. Will cancel on you 3 mins before your appointment when she could’ve contacted you the day/night before to let you know she was canceling. She told me she had covid and would be out all week. On top of that, when i reached out to see if she was okay, and see if she was available to book a new appointment, she simply ignored my text. So I let a week pass by before texting her again to ask about making another appointment. Again, she ignored my text. Luckily I know someone who gets their hair cut here, and he informed me that Danielle was at the shop doing hair during the same week she told me she would be out sick. (So she played me) I will absolutely not be dealing with unprofessional black owned businesses anymore. We as black entrepreneurs need to have higher standards for ourselves and how we treat our customers & clientele. Don’t waste your time because consistency doesn’t exist here I haven’t heard back from Danielle ever since she canceled on me. She could’ve handled it much differently and Been cool, instead of awkward about it
Bay Beauty Spa - El Cerrito 怼怼: I had a massage and facial combo today, and it was amazing. I felt so relaxed and refreshed. The staff were really nice and the place was cleaned. They also have a special event for Mother’s Day with a surprise gift. I’m planning to bring my mom and celebrate with her.
Lupitas Beauty Salon - San Pablo D R: My son gets his hair cut here and has gotten it cut by two different woman, both have done an excellent job. He is 2 and moves around a lot and they still were able to keep his line straight and no cuts. Its always busy when I go there. The price is also great!
