1 /5 Jordan Baney: I had an appointment at 10:40. I was driving over 40 minutes out because it was the only appointment available in the area. I was running a bit late because I’d had to take my child to their pediatrician. On the way down, I called in, spoke with a patient navigator and was reassured as long as I was inside of the building within their standard 15 minute time frame I’d be fine.
I stepped foot into the building at 10:53. When I got to the counter to be checked in, the front desk attendant pointed to her wall clock and said “I’m sorry, it’s 10:56, 10:57, it’s past the 15 minute window”; to which I held up my phone and showed her it was 10:55.
She refused to admit me and instead directed me to the urgent care which had over a 2 hour wait. I’ve been a patient at Memorial Care for years, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve had to date. I’m not one to write reviews, I try to be generally understanding as I’ve worked in customer care previously…but to not only be wrong, but then lie and drag out the conversation so it actually IS past the 15 minute window was insane to me. I’ll be looking to switch my primary doctor to a clinic that is less dismissive of their patients.
