1 /5 Marci Lambros: If I could leave zero stars I would. I choose Dr. Lopez as my primary care doctor upon moving to San Diego. I asked for a referral to a knee surgeon since I have been putting off knee replacement for years. I had been to an orthopedic doctor before moving to San Diego and a knee replacement had been recommended, so this was not a whim. Dr. Lopez ordered chest X-rays, abdominal ultrasound, and multiple other tests that had nothing to do with knee surgery. He ordered some texts that I had recently had within a few months of seeing Dr. Lopez, but he wanted new ones instead of ordering anything from previous doctors. A month later, I still have no referral to a knee doctor. And thats not the only issue I have with his office.
I talked to him about an instance of vertigo Id had just a few nights before my appointment. He gave me a prescription and said maybe I had a bad dream. I called back within a few days and asked for a referral to an ENT and his assistant said Id have to talk to him first. I told her Id already talked to him about the issue when I was in his office but she said he could do a telephone health check up and would call me that afternoon. I never received a phone call. Fortunately the vertigo has cleared up on its own. After a month, I still have not received a phone call or a referral to an ENT.
And if that wasnt enough, I asked for a refill to a regular medication I take. I asked that they send it to my mail order pharmacy. He said talk to his assistant, Michelle. So I asked Michelle and she said they would send it. The mail order pharmacy did not receive it. I called Michelle back after a few days and asked if they could resend it. She said no, they already sent it. I persisted and said I realize you sent it but they dont have it and Im running out, could you please help me out and send it again. She reluctantly said yes. Later that day I received a call from my local Walgreens that they sent the prescription to them. This is a maintenance drug that Dr. Lopez said I could refill at 90 days at a time. They sent a prescription to the wrong place, and for only 30 days with no refills.
I could go on about the incompetence of this doctor and his staff.
