4 /5 Mary Ryan: ADA accessible trail that has gorgeous views of the bay, Richmond Bridge, Mt. Tam, and East Bay hills. The trail is flat and fully paved, so its good for bikers and people who want an easy, scenic walk. There arent very many places to picnic or sit, and the entrance is really hard to find if you try to Google or use Waze. The City of San Rafael website needs to offer a better map of how to access the trail. Great place for taking in views and native wildlife. There arent any play structures, so young kids might be disappointed if theyre expecting the amenities of a neighborhood park. There was a porta potty there, but I didnt check to see if its open. Wonderful, chill place to go for a walk or just relax with the views.

5 /5 a t: Trail has parking available along the business plaza. Restroom available near the bend and has benches scattered along the way. Fishing also possible by the pier. Would return during better weather, great spot to reflect and enjoy the sites.

Military Thank You plaque - Novato

Scheria: As someone with those who have served in the military on both sides of my family, it was a pleasant surprise to see this plaque. There are often many who feel their military service sacrifice is/was unappreciated. This serves as a great visual thank you to all who have served. Big shout out to the city of Novato for putting the resources together to make this happen.

Deer Island Open Space - Novato

Liz Armstrong: Easy walk with mixture of shade and sun. In the morning we went left and the hike started in shade. If it were getter hotter I would start on the right and finish in the shade. We finished in 45-50 minutes at a brisk pace.

Hamilton Field History Museum - Novato

Ankit Patel: Hamilton Field was an important local air force base during WWII and it would continue to run until 1974. This unassuming museum is one of the best in the region, despite frequently being overlooked. It’s free to visit and has a wonderful research library featuring a collection of documents from the war. Medals and equipment line the exhibits and, if you’re big a kid, the cockpit simulator here is lots of fun. The best thing about this museum is many veterans choose to work here, and they are often happy to share their knowledge and experience of 20th-century conflicts.
