5 /5 Eric Mar: One of my favorite escapes. Tremendous “overview effect” of the mouth of the Golden Gate with boats coming and going and a great view of the Farralon Islands in the Western distance. Easy parking too! Nice bike ride from the Richmond District near 15th Ave at Lake St.

5 /5 Lucas Chang: Really beautiful views of the ocean and Northern edge of San Francisco. You can see the Seacliff neighborhood as well as Lands End. On clear days, you can also see the Marin headlands. The views are amazing and there are benches and spots to sit and enjoy the view. The overlook is beside Washington Blvd which is a closed street so it is nice to walk or bike there. There is also a nice plaque honoring San Franciscos immigrants.

5 /5 Edward G: I visited the Immigrant Point Overlook back in Dec 2019 and was blown away by the stunning views. The short bus ride to the overlook was a breeze, and although there was a bit of climbing up a hill involved, it was definitely worth it. The scenery was breathtaking and I highly recommend a visit to this scenic spot. Its a must-see for anyone in the area.

San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park -

Melissa L: A secret gem! I genuinely enjoyed this more than Alcatraz. I found the history of the actual building to be the most interesting, but the story of various boats and radio transmissions were also interesting. Nice view. Its less popular than other areas and was a nice quiet place to relax if, like me, you find the city overwhelming at times. Free entry and clean bathrooms. Be sure to get your National Parks passport book stamped. Note: The garden area is currently being remodeled and is completely torn up/inaccessible.

San Francisco Museum of Modern Art - San Francisco

Alissa Kennedy: I absolutely loved my visit. It was both magical, profound, and full of simple wonders as well. I left with a new perspective on art and the humanness of it. There was a fascinating range of art and experiences, including famous works by Andy Warhol and the iconic LOVE installation by the dining area. Food was superb as well.

Shakespeare Garden - San Francisco

Kay Bee: This is a great little garden that doesn’t get a lot of foot traffic. It’s usually empty and great place to get away from the crowds. It’s near a lot of the main attractions on this side of the park - Botanical Garden, Japanese Tea Garden, Music Concourse, de Young and Academy of Science. It is a great spot if you want kids to toddle around in a semi-enclosed area. You can book for private events for a fee. A friend even went for a wedding ceremony here. For those fond of Shakespeare, you can find a lot of the plants mentioned in his works in this garden.

Pier 29 - San Francisco

Antony Savvas: If you want your car windows smashed in and your luggage taken in broad daylight, well park here! The whole car park area is covered in glass so it must be a regular occurrence. Just quickly walking through the car park across from the pier, after being dropped off, and I took three pictures of targeted cars. This happened at about 12.15pm and a police car was there with officers taking statements from witnesses, describing it as a drive by attack.

Danielle Smith: Amazing little artsy Garden area tucked in the city of San Francisco. A wonderful place to take a walk to and enjoy a waterfall dedication as well! Definitely worth the walk and the art statues are really cool!

Language of the Birds - San Francisco

Katherine: We just wandered into this public art exhibit. Its rather lovely, paying tribute to writers and musicians and linking Chinatown and North Beach. Look down at the ground to find words in Chinese, Italian, and English from the pages fallen from the books/birds above.
