Carolyn Samaniego: Loved the historical barn and house there. I really liked that throughout the trails ( there are multiple short ones) there are informational posts about the animals there and landmarks. A group of us went, took tons of beautiful pictures and had lunch at the picnic tables. There are porter potties there so I waited to use the bathroom until after we left. Its nice for a small hike there
Stephanie Ashby: They are always friendly, however the course is in serious need of upkeep. It is such a cute little mini golf course that its too bad they dont put a little effort into it. That being said, we visit every time were in the area and always have fun.
Michael Guerra: My family has been going up to Clear Lake since the 70s. I havent been able to get up there as much as Id like, but was able to spend a couple post-Christmas days at the lake house with my wife and in-laws. My sister, who gets to the lake far more often than I do, recommended Stonehouse Cellars as a spot to visit...
Im in the wine business - been in wine retail and hospitality for over 20 years - so I know good service and hospitality when I experience it. I can say that we had an amazing visit at Stonehouse.
The tasting room is fantastic - beautifully designed and appointed - very welcoming and comfortable. Has amazing views. We were there on a cold & rainy day and so were not able to walk the grounds or sit outside, but I looks like a great place to hang out, rain or shine.
The wines were also very impressive. We shared 3 flights and got a few extra pours, so we tasted 15-20 wines. I was most impressed by the Cabernets. What I enjoyed the most was doing the Cab flight, which allows you to taste 4 Cabs side by side that were aged in different types of oak. Very informative!
What made the visit so special, though, was our hostess, Heather. She was friendly, welcoming and amazingly knowledgable about, not only the winery and wines, but the history of the area. She wowed us with her passion and knowledge and her multi-faceted talents - pastry chef, scientist, opera singer - all rolled into one. She brought all these skills to the table (pun intended) during our tasting visit. She even allowed us to check out one of the guest rooms - highly recommended.
As a parting gift, she sang us a song - in Italian! We had a choice between Italian or French - went with Italian. Is there anything Heather cant do??
What a memorable visit! Well be back and highly recommend you visit as well.
Amber Bloodsworth: First half of the trail is in direct sunlight, then after that there’s a nice path in between bushes and trees. Well maintained path. A couple of miles in there’s a nice river. There are a lack of signs along the trail. There was a fork in the road at one point with arrows both ways, but nothing saying what the arrows mean.
Jason D: I had a great experience talking to the museum curators.these 2 men were excellent at there job.very informative .I learned a lot about susanville and Lassen country.Thank you both for making me feel welcomed I really appreciate it.
Dale Maynor: Very clean, seems very safe, lots of shade and the Susan river runs by the trail in this small park with a green lawn and tables and benches and a playground. Seems like families come here on the weekends and its a pleasant atmosphere to bring children.
