1 /5 Isabel Morgan: SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!!! I cannot recommend this church purely based on the congregation that frequents this “house of God”. I have a visible and up to date parking permit. A woman and man accosted me in the parking lot today (3/2/22). Even though it’s the middle of a pandemic the woman (a total “Karen”) walked up to me and touched my person without my consent. She accused me of not having the correct parking permit. I do. She did not believe me. Apparently this woman and her husband are the self appointed aggro parking attendants of this house of God. They threatened me. In a passive aggressive tone she said “well she will learn her lesson when she gets towed”. It’s so sad to me that a member of this congregation chases down folks with clearly displayed parking premiers. 1 John 4:20 20 “Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.” Shame. Shame. Shame.

Grace Central Coast - San Luis Obispo

David Bradley: Come by any Saturday morning, and youll see adults and kids from Grace Church at 7am, working to distribute food to members of the community (no questions asked) through their "Gods Storehouse" ministry. Come back Sunday morning, and youll see young children, teens, college students, singles, marrieds, parents, grandparents - together worshiping God at one of Grace Churchs multi-generational church services. Great, eclectic music style and solid, relevant Bible teaching. Come back during the week, and you see the church touching every aspect of the community. My family and I have attended for 7 years. Highly recommend.

Brooke Vice: I am really happy to say I have been going to Local Church for almost eight years. In that time, I’ve had a lot of big life changes, and I’m really grateful to have had the people at Local be a part of my life through it all. When I first started looking for churches, I definitely wasn’t expecting to be as involved as I have become at Local, but I am really grateful for it. As the years have gone on, I’m becoming increasingly convinced that the pastors and leaders and members of this church are all looking to do the best they can for people and to bring Jesus to people. Its actually been pretty amazing to see so many people wanting to do SOMETHING for Jesus by sharing his message and engaging in discipleship. It has inspired me to be a better me, and to have a deeper relationship with God. Since going here, the church has also started a second church in Santa Maria, which is such a great example of the heart that this church carries for people and their community. Definitely recommend coming to this church and getting to know some of the people here, I’m glad I did. Edit: updated the name of the church to Local in my review:)

Jonathan Rabbon: JCF has an excellent community! I have enjoyed going for the past 8 years, and attending house church for 6 years. There love of Gods people and care go hand in hand. When I first started coming to JCF, they did a college finals dinner. I remember how loving everyone was and how serving the body of Christ is at JCF.

St. Stephens Episcopal Church - San Luis Obispo

Kenny Standhardt: We hoped to find a spiritual home at St Stephens but it became clear to us it would not. Their relation to alcohol seemed to be more important to those at the top than much anything else. When we left after more than a year of being there I didnt even get a phone call or text from the priest in charge. Nor from anyone on the Vestry. Pretty much a "good ridden" My husband and I have never had such a bad experience at any church. As far as being welcoming to LGBTQIA+ I would say they did welcome us but that is not enough anymore. We now attend a wonderful church that is affirming.
